This is true and your compassion is wonderful. In Montreal, where I live, there a few homeless shelters and no homeless person gets turned away from them during the bitter cold of Winter. Of course, there are those who still decide to stay outside, and I wish them well.

well i being in a third world country see too many people out there on the roads. There aren't many homeless shelters here, and so these people sleep in the train stations or on the sidewalks or any wehre they can

Unfortunately, every year there are a few stories in the wintertime that talk about a homeless person freezing to death outside.

The plight of the homeless really puts things into perspective sometimes vis-a-vis our own comfort zones. When I find myself feeling a little down or wondering how I can get more clicks on Adsense, I'll often times think about those less fortunate than myself and I soon realize that I am indeed very lucky to be in the "place" that I am and life looks good...especially around the holidays with good friends, family and plenty of food, joy and laughter. I wish those with less than I that they find some relief and good company.

Working at a grocery store, I've seen many a homeless person come in and buy beer with the money they got begging outside the store -_-'

People like that really irritate me, because they make it impossible to tell the difference between the honest people who are just in a down time, and the horrible people that will beg just to buy booze. >_>

I understand the distinction augenauf but I see both as being the same, just a different way of accepting what has brought them to where they are. I feel for both. But that's just me...and it was only 17 years ago that I could have been one of them...not the drinking one's but the other down in their luck one's. Thankfully I got through it and now all is "good in the hood"...

I read your post quickly, so at first I did not catch the part about "not the drinking ones" so for an hour or so I wandered around in a stupor as to why you'd confess something like that... xDDD

Maybe I am a bad person, but I can't bring myself to feel for anyone that isn't at least giving their all, you know?

That doesn't make you a bad person at all. We all have our limits and expectations of our fellow man/woman and what you feel or what I feel really doesn't make us any less human or any more human. That's the beauty of being an individual. I can't expect you to be like me nor can you expect me to be like you. We are who we are, end of story...
