I was watching this news channel where they were showing how to use shopzilla to shop online. Shopzilla is a comparison shopping site where you search for a product and it shows you prices from different retailers for that product. It shows whos giving out free shipping, discounts and rebates.

When i was watching this, i was wondering how people know how shopzilla works? That how many people wouldn't know that shopzilla don't have any inventory of their own. They basically show you prices from different retailers. When you buy through then they are making commission from your purchase. Shopzilla is basically like a BIG affiliate for electronics.

I wonder how much companies like shopzilla, bizrates and such make during busy shopping season.

We are British and when we first relocated to the Chicago area we decided to 'just go shopping' as we had nothing to do and check out an outlet mall at Gurnee Mills. Well it was Black Friday and we just could not figure out why so many people were there ! Only the biggest shopping day for Americans ! No fun. at the time we had a double stroller and two small babies !! Never again !
