Default Big earthquake in China and lots of people died

Saw the news today that over 12 000 people died in a huge earthquake in China. Thousands of people still missing

Very sad to see such devastation.

Yes, a film crew actually caught the action on film at an airport and I saw it on the news. That had to be so scary.

I was just talking to my boyfriend last night about all this crazy weather. The quake in China, the cyclone in Myanmar, and all those tornadoes in the US. It's crazy how many people have lost their lives due to weather in the past few weeks. Here, in the Northeast, we had crazy weather on Monday. It was unseasonably cold (about 50 degrees in Phila.) and very windy. We had flooding and fallen trees everywhere. They had to close a lot of the schools near the shore.

It is crazy. We have had several tornado watches this month. That is some scary stuff. You never know if one will drop right into your living room.

Plus the major volcanic eruption that just happened in Chilly sending junk 30 thousand feet into the atmosphere! Luckily many were evacuated before it's head exploded.

Heard the phase of the sun just changed January 2nd. It's the lowest solar output we've ever had since the mini ice age. Wonder if global cooling will be an issue down the road.

Very sad what is happening in China and not only.

In these moments I am feeling very lucky that I am not in their places, and that terrible event did not happen in my country or my town.

Disaster can strike at anytime, and we are powerless against the incredible power of mother nature.

There is just nothing that you can you against such events. Can't hide, can't protect yourself, can't avoid.

That is what scares me the most.

Regards,
Izabella

My city set a record for heavy rainfall 2 days ago.... Man, I wonder if this weather is some king of sign from God, Global Warning, or whatever....It baffles me how the government(s) are playing political footsies with getting aid to those people

Yeah global warming has really stirred things up. Dallas has always gotten some pretty bad storms but in the last few years it's really gotten ugly. We had one here about a month ago and I swear my roof was going to come off. I had never heard wind like that.

I've never been one to be afraid of storms but in the last few years I get a little nervous when they talk of tornado weather coming.
