Wisdom Teeth
Just got all 4 pulled this morning. I was sooooooo scared but it wasn't as bad as I thought. I was put to sleep and woke up with a numb mouth and feeling a little woozy. I didn't talk crazy like I'd heard many people do who have been on anesthetic. A friend of mine said she hallucinated and saw cats as she was being escorted to the car.
Anyone else had theirs done?

Lisa, good to hear that extraction went well. Why did you have to pull all 4 wisdom teeth?
I had one wisdom tooth pulled and it was very Sore. Not a nice experience. My mouth was ok afterwards

I had all 4 of mine pulled years ago...and it is an interesting story.
I was scheduled to have it done around 8am. As per the usual, I wasn't allowed to eat or drink anything since the previous night, so I was a bit hungry.
When I went to get them pulled, they were behind so I had to wait a few hours. Needless to say, I was getting hungry.
I finally had them pulled and was put under with anesthetic. When I woke, for some reason I thought everything was funny...ah well. I then tried to sit up, but passed out immediately.
The lack of sugar in my blood (from not eating since the night before) had caused me to pass out. They hooked up a sugar/water bag to me to get my sugar levels up. After a few minutes I was finally able to leave.
The next day my cheeks blew up like balloons, although this doesn't happen to everyone. I was also in a bit of pain, but nothing Tylenol 3s couldn't take care of.
A hwell, such is the life with my teeth.

Wow Techieguy! What an experience! I'm so glad I didn't hear that BEFORE I had it done. LOL
Lajocar, My bottom wisdom teeth started pushing my teeth outward (toward my gums) and were leaving scrape marks on the sides of my cheeks (ouch!) They were also making my front bottom teeth crooked. So that's why I had them removed.
What I find strange though is that my wisdom teeth had been in for years and they never caused me any problems. All of a sudden about a month ago, I started having problems with them.

I had all four wisdom teeth pulled about 11 years ago. They put me out cold. I remember waking up after it was done in a dazed state and almost falling over walking to my mom's car as she drove me home.
For a couple weeks after, my teeth and mouth throbbed and I pretty much doped up on pain pills, I'm glad that part is over.
Now that you've just had your wisdom teeth pulled Lisa and are likely numbed up, I think this is the perfect time for you to make another video!

LOL, I actually had a very quick recovery. Of course the areas are a little soar today but I'm pretty much back to normal except for the 4 holes in my mouth.

Me too!
I had mine removed 10 years ago. They were all impacted so I'm not sure if they were pulled or cut out? I'm glad I was out for the whole thing! I had mine removed because they can crowd your mouth and make your teeth crooked. And since I've had braces twice, I didn't want to take that chance!
I healed pretty nicely, but they started to get painful about 7 days later, just in time for my recheck with the dentist. He said that little bits of food were building up so he flushed out the holes and it felt much better.
Here's to closing those holes, Lisa!

Yes, I already had braces too and they were making my bottom teeth crooked so I definitely wanted to get them out as soon as possible so I didn't have to wind up with braces again. I should have had them done years ago but they weren't bothering me. I also read as you get older sometimes your teeth shift and I think that's what started happening to me.

I had all 4 removed 3-4 years ago. I was also put out. The whole thing went incredibly smooth for me. They recommended that I stay on the drugs to prevent pain from kicking in... it was the most relaxing 3 or 4 days!
My diet consisted of liquids and very soft foods for about a week... I even lost a few pounds I think you can start eating real food sooner than a week, but mentally, I was not prepared to eat real food.
Glad it all went well, Lisa.

Had all four of mine pulled at the same time a few years back. I remember the surgeon greeting me and asking me how I was. By that time, I was done and I replied, "I'M WASTED!!". By the way I'm a lightweight, and regular Tylenol gets me high. lol Next thing I know, my sister is walking me to the car.
I didn't experience any of the horror stories I heard before the surgery. With the pain killers they gave me, which I took as directed, I was out for a day or two and had little soreness afterward. I followed the doctors instructions on eating and cleaning. The hygienist was actually surprised of how well I healed with no complications. All I could do was .

Wisdom Teeth
I had all mine out, too, had to be 12 years ago or so. But, I didn't go out completely. I got an IV with valium or something, and a bunch of novocaine. I can't remember the reason for the decision, but the valium put me to sleep anyway. I do remember the cracking sound when they pulled each tooth, but it didn't hurt and I was beyond caring!!
What I remember is that we lived in a small apartment building (2 apts. downstairs, 2 upstairs) and we were upstairs. The folks below us decided to have a party that night... I think it was Friday, and I had my teeth out in the afternoon. Finally, at like 2am, we called the police because they wouldn't respond to my husband's requests to keep it down. I never call the police on people but I really needed to go to sleep!! They were very apologetic after that!!
Best,
Kim

I don't think I even have mine yet o.0 Plus I'm missing one of my bottom incisors, it just isn't there according to the dentist. One of my premolars also just isn't there, but for that one my baby tooth is still there, so it'll probably stay for the rest of my life! Or for as long as one has teeth...

I had mine pulled out about 12 years ago. I had one protruding outward and it was frequently cutting into my cheek (obviously painful situation). I had another that was impacted but didn't cause me any problems (along with the other two). I had them removed as well as a precaution.

Well my wisdom teeth are the source of my wit and great babbling ability! I'm keeping them.
Yep, you guessed it. That was just my latest excuse to avoid the chair. My wisdom teeth are "jacked up" (that means messed up) and they will have to be cut out. And somehow, to me, the words cut and mouth should not be in the same sentence. I am a big baby.
