Question Home page tips?

Well, I’ve basically fixed everything related to design (gonna work on the title image though), and I have lots of content ready on my PC (approx. 50 pages), and still not even half way done.

Right now, I’m trying to get the content I have so far online, and work on the rest in the meanwhile.

I’m also writing a homepage, but I’m not sure just what to write.

Any tips?

Jim

Yo giga,

Your site looks good. If you have content ready for your site, why dont you go ahead and post it. Just go with what you already have and work from there. As far as a title, why don't you use what you already have or you looking for another name?

Yeah, that's my goal right now. But I'm having trouble with writing up a home page. Should I write an intro? Or maybe a blog? Or what?

Cheers

Giga,

I think your homepage should be the JUST of your whole site idea. Meaning, write a brief summary or article about what your entire site is about, what people can do from your site. Then just below that, you can do a weekly blog or update informing your visitors about new features, new pages, etc.

I guess the idea is to keep your visitors intrigued with information on your homepage each week. It doesn't have to be formal or anything, just tell the truth and be yourself.

The best way to do all the above is to see yourself as one of your visitors and think about what you would expect to see on your site.

Hope this helps

Default your site

Hey looks great, i was reading through google's program my only recommendation is i think they have something on policy that you cannot mention anything to do with ppl clicking the ads, but someone pls correct me if i'm incorrect. Just don't want you to end up getting that stream of income taken away. You've obviously put a lot of hard work and dedication into this.

Yeah, that is correct. Google states that you're not supposed to encourage anyone in any way to click on your Google Ads. For example, you are not supposed to even vaguely hint at it by saying something to the effect of: "if you click on the ads, you will be supporting this website".

lol thanks guys. I actually wrote some random baloney so I could get an idea of the structure of the site. I'll be changing everything as soon as it's all settled.

I also did the weapons--->combat tactics and gallery...

One question for the gallery: how do I take off the "flyingmongoose" on the gallery page? I've taken it off on dreamweaver, the site folder, and public_html..but it's still there. Any solutions?

dang website building sure is hard work.

Thanks for all your support!

Gig

I'm sure I and just being mildly retarded but where does this show on your site?

I don't even see a link to the gallery, unless I am missing something.

Point me in the right direction and I'll take a look and see if I can see what is going on.

yeah, I sorta messed up my site, and I redid it. Most of the site is stored here on my PC, and once i'll finish, i'll upload them all online. It's more organized this way.

Thanks for the reply!
