Default Problems with my first CSS website

I have designed one of my first CSS websites for a non-profit I have started with a friend to produce educational events and materials on issues of sustainability and social justice. I get emails from people saying that the website looks weird/terrible/wrong on old versions of Explorer and on Macs.

The problems include: (1) Bold black borders around the menus, (2) Huge blank space between the content and the menu, (3) The mailing list block doesn't load properly.

I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to help me test this issue and refine my CSS. I'm sure it's something extremely simple that I just can't see.

Thanks, Lucas

Hi EcoNow,

Would you know what versions of the browsers the visitors are using to view your site? Some of the older browsers don't support some of the CSS style definitions, so the Web site may not appear correctly.

Usually any browser from IE6 and newer should be ok. I'm not sure about the Mac though.

For the most part, there are five big browsers you'll need to impress:

1. IE latest version.
2. IE second-to-most-recent version.
3. Firefox
4. Safari
5. Netscape

I would reccomend downloading a copy of each in which to test your site--and don't forget to change the screen resolution!

Or, there are emulators, which are web-based programs made to immitate different browsers. Google web emulators for more information.

As to what the problems are, I'd need more information. =) Is the site that you listed the one with the problem? =)
