Website rename to make funnier

currently, my website is called Mike's Computer Science and Services. I'm thinking of renaming it "The ugliest Computer Science page in the world" or "Mike's Ugly Computer Page". Its just to make people look at the site more and to create a theme. I want a computer science page that people go to for all there needs (but not for looks). Im not looking to make any money because i know apache server applicaitons already. Im just trying to create a good site reputation and give out free website stuff.

Just wondering if it would be a good or a bad change.

p.s. I just put this forum on my links page. Even though i have little traffic, I want people to know about this forum. Its great!!

It's always good to create a unique identify to your site. it makes it look different form 1000s others on the net and help catch attention. So, i think its a good idea. It will catch people's attention however for them to stay and comeback make sure you write good valuable content which appeals to them. Good luck with your stuff.

i think i might, I was thinking of changing the format of the website for a while now but havent had the time (school, work, band) so ill try updating it as time goes on it little increments. Im going to try and put more tutorials on computer science and operating systems (which I love to talk about). Im thinking of creating a separate blog. Who knows. For right now the website is a hobby at most but it might turn into something else.

Name choice is so important and I certainly wish I had put more thought into some of my site's names so I think it pays to think outside the box. If I saw "Mike's Ugly Computer Page" as a title, I'd visit just out of curiosity.

If you are going to do that I think it works best if you utilize that "ugly" theme throughout your site instead of just the title. You could really have a lot of fun with that and get very creative.

That's a clever idea but for search engine traffic, just wondering if it's best to use your targeted keywords in your title.

There is nothing wrong with thinking outside of the box like Lisa said.
It is good to come up with fresh ideas

I'd so look at the site out of interest. It's so rare to see a really creative name, just make sure your site is creative too!

Im going to employ a graphic designer eventually to remake the website. Since my wife is a graphic designer...i think ill let her do it lol

Thanks for the comments. The only thing holding me back is a Static IP adress (a nonchanging IP)
and a .com name

Is there a way to get a .com without webhosting. I can host on my machine already (one of the pluses of being a Computer Science major). I just want it to redirect to my machine like the service .co.nr does already.

Also I might make a wordpress (or Jolomba) blog called Mikes Trash Talk.

Im also creating a wiki for the tutorials and other things I want to do with my pages.

oh ya, Im also looking for other computer science tutorial sites to put on my current links page. I already have this site down in the links because i like the people here

If you have one please talk to me and ill put it up here
