Default Interesting blog, couple of issues

Very interesting blog. Good mix of personal identification with good suggestions.

There are two format suggestions I would make.

First, while it works in internet explorer, there is a small problem with the code in the right column in other browsers like Firefox. There is an overlap there of two sections so that the words "help · smilies · cbox" end up partially covered by the section below it.

Second, the background in the page heading, being a kind of patchy look, nears white just enough that the white text is a little difficult to read, especially in the larger part with smaller text. Besides, I think a more interesting header could be made using one or more images that relate to your topic.

I enjoyed reading on you site. Enjoy your new job.

Default Wow!

I love your introduction about how you want to share your advice about earning two 2 masters in less than 20 months. It took me about 3 years to earn one!

I agree with James that the white text is difficult to read. Also, I'm confused because where is the advice you said you were going to give? The blogs you have listed are about other topics.

I like the book recommendations although that overlaps the scroll box to the right of it.

Interesting topic - good luck!

Thanks all for your comments!

I am glad that you like my blog. As I have just started the blog since recently, there is a lot of things to learn.

I will first starting changing the font colors so that it can become easier to read.

Kind regards,

Hi

I have just changed the color of the wordings and made some other minor touch up. Do you have some time to view it again?

Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you experts.

Default ok, but

You have solved the readability problem in the header and I think it looks pretty good.

However, you have a couple other problems that are more serious.

The rotating Amazon ad is wider that the allocated space. In Firefox it extends over the right column and covers some of the text there.

In Internet Explorer it is worse. It goes under the right column so that the rotation controls are hidden altogether.

Also, the "assessment" chart below that is not quite wide enough so that a string of single words appears beside it in differing degrees depending on the browser. In Firefox it is worse. In my opening it has just a few words way at the top which are cut from the first sentence some distance below.

These size adjustments should not be hard to fix. Otherwise the page looks good.

Thumbs up

Hi Thomas,

First I like your blog. The topics you cover are interesting and it looks professional.

I agree with the statements above about the Amazon widget. The overlap for being too wide distracts from the content, which should be the primary focus IMO.

Keep up the good work
