Should I do it?

Hey,

I had an idea a few months back and never though much of it. Now I am getting desperate for money and am considering it as a possible money making oppurtunity. Basically it is web Id where people can have there own ID cards and then can place them on the web and forums. People can then PM people through it and it will give information on it. They can avatars etc. Then choose from designs we have made or they can have there own design. What do you guys think? And will it make any money?

I guess I'm not sure how this is going to work? Why would I use this card when most forums have PM functionality built into them. I'm confused.

Unfortunately I would highly advise against starting a new venture when you need to make money right away. Because, obviously, there is risk associated with starting any venture. Even if you have a fantastic idea, it may still not make you any money. I just don't want you to invest all your time and energy in something that does not guarantee an income at the end.

Good point Sherif. Good ideas only translate to good income if you can implement them properly. How do you plan to market this? Just posting in forums or adding your site to your MySpace page is not going to be enough. Do you know what keywords you'd be targeting for the search engines? I just want you to think this through. There are a lot of great idea sites out here but the problem is people have trouble marketing them so they end up being great ideas with no traffic.

Not trying to discourage you, but also want you to think this through and be realistic and have a specific plan for how this is going to play out. Do you think there really is a demand for something like this? If so, spend more time developing how you plan to market it. Just putting up a site with a great idea is not guaranteed income. Otherwise we'd all be rolling in dough.
