Default GOOD IDEA OR BAD??

I really enjoy computers and want to start my own website with SBI! but my mom is skeptical.. Im 17 and have some ideas about camping spots ive been to and really want to work on making a site based on my experiences.. Im also going there a few times this year and will get things like pictures, videos, etc to make my site more interesting.. Will this be a good idea for me to start from and is SBI worth it??????? my mom doesnt like the 300 some dollars you pay up front, but im all for it... To me itll be fun and a nice way to make some money over the summer.. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi RFATCH,

This is going to sound vague, but almost any idea will work as long as you develop it properly. As far as your mom, I just told this to someone else, have her take a look at http://actionguide.sitesell.com This is the exact guide you'll receive when you buy it. Of course you don't get access to the brainstorming tools but at least you can see what you'll be getting into.

I understand her concern. $300 is not a drop in the bucket so she wants to make sure this is not some fly-by-night scheme. I can assure you that's not the case with SBI!, but at the same time you also have to do your part and follow the guide, bring some of your own creativity and BAM (brains and motivation) as SBI! says.

Default Not necessary...

With all the resources out there on the web and your obvious enthusiasm, you can surely learn all you need just by doing a little research. Sitepoint.com is a great place for beginners to get up to speed, and to get ideas on how to approach development. And if you get stuck, naturally come back and as a question here. : )

I have to agree with the above, with all the available resources out there it should be no problem finding all you need.

And of course do not forget the WB forum. Got a question? Start a topic on that, and we'll try to find the answer for you.

Good luck to you,

Kind regards,
Izabella

SBI is a wonderful choice, then again I have been an SBI member since 2004 so I may be a tad bit bias . Just do your research, which is a good idea before putting down any amount of money.

The SBI forums are wonderful, just like here on Website Babble, the people are very respectful and always ready and willing to help you out.

You do however have to put in the time and do the work. If you're into camping it could really be a fun site for you to put together. The idea sounds very interesting. There are tons of things you can talk about, not just the camp sites you go to, although that's a great idea but you can tell people how to set up a tent, how to make a fire, how to fish. You could even have a section where your visitors tell the best way to start a fire, set up a tent or catch fish.

You could have a section where you and your visitors talk about the best camping equipment to purchase.

The possibilities are endless. Do some research on it, check out other camping sites and add ideas to yours that theirs lack.

I do understand your mothers hesitation when it comes to the money, no one wants to waste $300, especially when we now live in the time of $4 plus gas. Being an SBI owner however I know that what you get for the money is more then worth it.

I wish you the best of luck in your website building endeavors wether you use SBI or not.
