I came across a 3rd party application you could build a website around that allowed you to upload pictures of cars with description fields. I can't find it any more. Any one familiar with this?

pictures, upload and build a website around it.

you might try scriptaty.net, they have a lot of very useful scripts. use the search engine and search on automobile. even if you don't find the one you were thinking of, you will probably find a good sub.
