Just Checking In
Hi all,
I know I came in, introduced myself, hung around for a little while and then disappeared!!! I actually have been quite busy. I finally ended up with SBI and have been reading, brainstorming, deciphering, reading some more, deciphering lots more and just all round been focused on learning the ropes and finding my site concept.
This has been one of the best learning experiences for me. I have definitely worked hard at it though, and I know there is lots more work to come.
At any rate, I am excited to say that I have my website concept finally narrowed down and I am working on all the research and brainstorming keywords for it. I am pretty close to a domain name I think.
I just wanted to thank all those who answered my questions...I really appreciate having this forum available. Thanks Lisa.
I will also try to not be such a stranger around these parts.

Jewel, so great to have you back! And congrats on your SBI purchase. Yes, it truly is a lot of reading but well worth it.

Thanks Sherif and Lisa.
Yes, definitely well worth it. I have had the "start an internet website" bug for well over a year now, maybe a year and a half, and until I found this site and SBI, I was constantly hunting for information, only to find mostly shady practices. I was so frustrated and felt taken advantage of, and wondering if I would ever find any real information. Also, I knew that I could never create a website that did this to others, or one that was constantly trying to fool the SE's and having to keep a step ahead.
I have certainly struggled with many of the concepts and information, but I have learned more good stuff in the past month than I had in the previous year and a half!

Thanks Greg, I do appreciate that.
BTW, I have seen your posts over at the SBI forums and didn't realize you were the same as Greg1 over here until I checked out your informative site.
I don't want to impose, and if you don't have time that is fine too, but I wonder if you might be able to check out my post under domain names...your replies are quite knowledgeable and I would really value your input. Right now I seem to be stuck in a holding pattern until I can make a decision!!!!

Jewel,
Now that you are an official SBI'er, what has been your overall experience so far and what do you like the most about it?

Hi Kevin,
Well, since I have not yet registered a domain name nor started to build a site, I don't feel completely official yet, but II can share my overall experiennce so far. (okay..pardon my double letters...I have keyboard issues when typing on the laptop and I am too tired to go back and correct).
At any rate, I can tell you my experience overall. So far it has been really challenging, but educational. Before SBI, I spent a lot of time searchhing for information on the basiccs of building a website. I knew how to surf the net and deal with email, but I had absolutely no clue about building a site or marketing. Time after time I ran into websites that promised information but seemed like scams. I even bought into one and spent a ton of money, which I am still paying off.
I don't know how II found SBII, but I diid. I have struggled through the Action Guide, well not Day 1, but definitely Days 2, 3, and 5. Especially days 2 and 3. Learning BrainstormIt was frustrating, learning to understand how to interpret and manipulate the results was frustrating, but I think what was most frustrating was the complete overwhelm of information available. Weird, huh? Frustrated by too much information as opposed to not enough!
However, I really feel I have gotten a great understanding of keywords, the tools, the search engines, and what I am going to need to do with all of the information I learned. Of course I expect more hurdles to jump over once I start building the site and writing...but I also expect to get over them with the support of SBI and of course the forums, SBI's and this one. Even just reading and reading and reading the forums has helped me tons.
So that is my experience so far. I guess what I liike the most about it is that I feel it is the first up front and hhonest program I am dealing with, and I am really learning quite a biit.
Hope this answers your question, and again, sorry about the double letters!
