Exclamation some opinions on my new idea please idea?

I am a virgin to websight building but from the current blogs and such common sense, i derived a use for asking "around and studying" my marketing targets. I am thinking of a websight dedicated to the trucking industry, which may advertise jobs, offer experienced advice to beginners, and formost, Identfy the life itself. Trucking is a very difficult job, and not for the lazy, or faint of heart. I wish to educate these prospective new driver trainees about the life they will be leading as an over the road driver, as most companies and schools misrepresent and make promises of a great new adventurous life and nothing could be further from the truth. Any and all comments are welcome to advise if this is a popular target area, and what else i should include as content to make the greatest, most accurate trucking info site on the entire web. Thank you.

Hi Diamondback76,

Seems like you know a great deal about trucking so that's great. The best advice I can give you is to you is if you are or were a trucker, build a site that details the things you experienced. What problems, myths, challenges did you face. The more personal you can make it with your own experiences, the better the site.

People love problem-solving or fact-finding sites authored by people who have had first-hand experiences. Those make great sites because you can connect with your audience. So my advice to you is to make a list of various topics you'd like to write about and put the info in an outline to help organize your thoughts.

Also check the AdWords tool and type in trucking related keywords
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

This will give you an idea of what people are searching for related to trucking and you can see which keywords are most popular.

Great idea!!!! Remember that you are targeting beginners so make sure that while reading your articles, readers will also feel the beauty of your experience from your words.

Secondly, focus on good website with content that gives reader a new perspective.

Default very good idea

That is a very good idea techmonster. I am all about the full truth in the buisines, so it would be imparative to include all the good points as well. Although I dont intend to fill my site with opinion, only fact, I may include a couple well placed opinions of my own. I also plan to leave some kind of message post for my audience to reply to, to request more info, and suggest any part they may want to hear of in my site.

I can see what your saying, obviously you want to be expressing the facts but alot of sites go along well when there written with an embedding type of personality you almost in a sense feel more connected with the writer as a reader.

As for the competition and idea I think its a great niche to go on, definately read up on some books and analyse your competition to if any or similar related sites and see what they are using and find your unique approach, you do seem to have a really interesting topic so you may not need to do so much analysing just more content!

I also think the use of video and media could be a possible for your kinda type of site, maybe do some tutorials or personal experiences who knows!

All the best.

Rob

My two cents!

I don't mean to be sexist, but I just wanted to mention that your layout should be masculine-looking. xD

Question reply

intersting, the comment about sexist. I'm curious why you would chose to make the sight I'm planning a "masculin sight" . It appeals to me to be the more manly portrayal, yet I feel the patrons of my sight should feel a sense of my kinder side as well. I think a bit of femininity ,not the wierd type, would attract the women veiwers as well. And incase you havent noticed lately, trucks arebecoming increasingly filled with women. Most who are down on themselves, but women still. All women and men deserving the same equal oppertunity to be known the truth about the journey they are seeking to embark on. Altough, it is also my belief that the cleche "sexy and angry sells", is mildly true. Im now stuck in the realm of whether or not to be too masculin in my sight. As I have stated, I want all readers to "feel" the site. And in doing so, develope more recurring visiters to the updating areas of the site.
As always, thank you very much for your comments.

I think you have a good idea. Do various Google searches regarding keywords related to the trucking, the trucking industry and the lifestyle. That will help you identify competition and give you some ideas to pull from.

You are correct, the trucking industry is not exclusive to men. There are more women getting into the driving profession. "Lot lizards" excluded. My fiance used to drive with her husband years ago. I used to date a girl who's father drove long haul and it was not uncommon for her mother to go with him on a long weekend trip.

Listen to people that are successful and have fun with it!

As for the look and feel, it is your site so create it how you see fit.
