    Post Windows Vista Info Website

I have finally focused my website on Windows Vista. My website will contain tutorials and various articles about features in Windows Vista. What else should I include in my website to make it a better source of information? Remember that the topic is "Windows Vista Info" and the audience is "People who want to understand Windows Vista better." All suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Hi That Guy Benz,

I am still on XP so unfortunately, I may not be able to provide insightful ideas to help you with your website.

However, I wanted to ask you: since Windows 7 will be officially released late 2009 or early 2010, have you considered how this would affect your Vista website in the long term?

That's is the problem with focusing on one particular version of any software...newer versions. Your web site would somehow have to adapt with the changes in the versions.

Bear in mind that Windows 7 is stirring up a buzz too.

I will surely consider Windows 7 in the future, but I will focus more on writing content about Windows Vista for now. Thank you for the suggestions.

    Default Vista Website

I have to ask, is your site intended to be commercial, or are you just building the site out of personal interest?

If you don't expect to make much money from the site from large volume of search engine traffic that's fine. But if you are intending to make an income from your site I would probably not attempt to get a ranking on the search engines as Computer Support websites are dime a dozen and search engine competition for associated keywords are fierce.

Example, type Vista into google and you get 5oo Million results.

If you still wan't to create a Vista support site, probably the best way to attract traffic would be DIY video tutorials. Create video tutorials on all manner of tasks even simple tasks. You would be amazed how many people don't know how to de-frag. Whenever you create a video and upload it to say youtube create a link to your site in your description.

You could upload each video you make to metacafe, youtube, google!

My advice go crazy with videos and you will attract the traffic your after.

I strongly suggest a program called Camtasia, all the pro's use it! And find a tutorial on how to create Hi Def videos. Of course you will need a descent microphone.

    Hope I have helped!

Hi bluefox, I'm planning on making an income from this website, just enough to keep it running. Thank you for the suggestion I have already purchased Camtasia a while back and started making video tutorials. I hope that would be enough to make my website stand out from the rest.
