I need some advice on a name for my site. I recently named my site but I decided It really isnt growing on me. That is just me though some others it may. I am building a site tailoring to helping people. I am going to have topic discussions support group calls and daily prayer motivational nights with a guest speaker and spiritual support on a conference call line. I am wanting to have other topics as well like a how to page for different things on how to do stuff and other ideas as they come or are proposed to me. I am stumped on what to name my site so im taking a poll to see what the readers think.

You could go nuts trying to come up with the right domain name. Do a little research or ask the viewers right here on this forum for the top two names and go from there.

Sure! The main focus will be topics to help people. We will have a time each day where we will have prayer request and spiritual support. Then another time it will be strictly like a therapy room session where people can bring the re problems or issues and get good loving and motivational support and be totally annonmous and then I will have other pages for like researching work at home jobs cause I work from home and it is something I know very well on how to get people on and like a how to page for receipes or just a varietyt of how to topics people request on how to do different things and a message board and guest book for people to post how the site has helped them and what we can do better and topic suggestions

Let your keyword analysis choose the name.

If a keyword show 10,000 more searches a day than another one - then why choose the other one?

How many website templates do they have I was considering website tonight they seem to have really good templates and they say it almost walks you through the whole process

They all say that. You have to make the choice. In my opinion hostgators are the best and easiest. Website tonight is a little tougher to learn. Of course this is MY opinion!

I use hostgator as my main webhosting and godaddy for domain registration.

I checked out hostgator it is very impressive. I see they are only supporting Linux right now. I am a Windows user do you use Windows as well?

You are likely referring to the fact that the host is linux based. That has nothing to do with your personal computer system. You can have any operating system you want.

The difference is that linux based systems are better at supporting php and other open sourced programs, whereas a Windows based system offers support for windows oriented programs like ASP.

php is free, used many if not most of the best and even biggest sites, and is a very powerful programming language. Linux also supports many other programs and approaches to web site building, enough so that it is the preferred way to go as far as I know.

I use windows on my computers and a linux based host. I suspect the vast majority of the members on this forum do the same.
