I had a idea awhile back for promoting a blog via myspace. Basically i have a utility to target and add about 100-300 people per day as friends takes about 20-30mins. I can also select friends that are interested in whatever i choose really.

My idea was to post articles occasionally via bulletin with a link to my blog, and also have a link on my main page to my blog. This i think would alleviate any symtpoms of spam. Allowing me to post blog articles about things i and my potential friends are already interested in.

would this be pofitable or worth attempting?

I have a myspace page to promote my website and I do get traffic from it, I havent done very much with it though because I have been concetrating on other things, but I think it would be usefull

its called friend blaster pro, i just downloaded it free over a filesharing program.

I just downloaded a free demo of friend blaster and tried it out, it seems to work fairly well, although you are only allowed to request 50 friends a day, which is what I did and within ten minutes I had 4 new friends so far. I have been using myspace anyway and I found it very time consuming searching for friends with a similar interest (childrens parties) so this has saved me quite a bit of time

If you have a program called bit-torrent, you can download it like a filesharing program, similar to napster. I got the full version through file sharing.

Also just curious how are you mentioning your site on your myspace. Could i see your myspace? Im still trying to think on how i want to integrate the two.

We can be myspace friends lol.

another update

just to let you know, since requesting 50 (daily limit) friends using friend blaster on my space, I have had 21 new friends add me. Thats not bad for one day, and it was so easy to do

yeah its really easy to use, just enter the captcha. I had like 57 friends, after 1 day i sent like 200 requests and now im at 167 i friends i think? It works good.

yeah and the great thing is, when someone adds you, you can comment back to say thanks and put your website link in the comment too

You can also post bulletins, but you want to do it in moderation, like one every week or so. When you post a bulletin it sends a forum like post that all your friends can see.

I think you should have secondary web presence in YouTube, FaceBook and MySpace etc. I found this site through YouTube! So I also posted a video promoting my site in youtube. Its working!

Hi there Trevor, strange that I didn't see this thread before, but anyway what you're talking about is called web2.0 marketing , you can make a network with those websites that use web2.0 like:

squidoo.com
facebook.com
hubpages.com
digg.com
etc.

after my personal research I found a great Idea myself, but I am building a new blog right now that will explain this technique I'm talking about soooon,
but it is a good Idea to use those sites, good luck
