We are in a recession, people are losing thier jobs and I have a domain that I think could be a pot of gold in the making, I'm just missing the rainbowt trail. Basically I'm asking for ideas to target the populace. The domain include the words: recession proof. I feel it would make a great affiliate site although I don't have the creativity to build a welcome page and and set up all the gizmos. I think I just want to create a cheap wordpress page with afffiliate links, any ideas? I googled the exact wording of my domain and got 8,130 (big deal) results and they will continue to grow as people want to find extra income. But I'm doing this on a shoe string budget, help.

Hmmm. Your idea sounds good but the real test are your keywords. Try googling "recession proof" without the quotes. As you can see there are 19 million results. It will be hard but not impossible to rank well with those numbers.

Try these keywords "Recession proof jobs" or Recession proof opportunities"...These keywords have less results and plenty of "Sponsored links" which means people are actually looking for this type of service, and or opportunity.

The biggest challenge will be promoting your idea.

Many folks here including myself will be able to help you with your welcome page and gizmos.

Thanks for the tip, I googled recession proof product and purchased that domain. We are going into a recession and I basically want some feed back how i should cheaply promote affiliates on a webpage other then Blogger( yuch, don't like their format) or Wordpress. The funny thing is I came to the conclusion that INFORMATION is the recession proof product. Again any thoughts on the quickest cheapest way to build a decent landing page is apprciated.

Whether or not you build a blog or website is really up to how you plan to layout the content. If you just want to post a bunch of articles on a frequent basis and present a more news-like format then a blog is probably best. But if you want to present your information in a more logical, chronological order then a website may be best. It really depends on how you plan to arrange your content.

As far as building, both websites and blogs are cheap. It's just about buying a domain and web host and web hosting is generally under $7/month at almost all hosting sites.

well there is something else to it, like, if you still need time to design a website like a month maybe, I guess you can go now with a blog and as you build its links you can use it later to raise your sites page rank when you launch it.
