Default The Supermom Concept. Is It Realistic?

I have always had visions in my head of being a wonderful wife of a proud husband and cherished dearly by my children. You see, family is very important to me. My dilemma is finding a way to integrate work and homemaking all into one big conglomerate adventure. These are the questions I have:

1. Can I run a household full-time and get paid for it?
2. Can I cook and get paid for it?
3. Can I clean and get paid for it?
4. Can I do the laundry and get paid for it?
5. Can I grocery shop and get paid for it?
6. Can I hire a part-time nanny and get paid for it?
7. Can I decorate my home and get paid for it?
8. Can I help my children with their homework, Give them play time and get paid for it?
9. Can I do all of the above without leaving my own home?
9. Can I do all of the above and more without dumping my husband for a rich man.

You Get My Drift!
Somewhere in the deepest depths of my idealist mind, I feel that this can be done, the question is how, and are there any other mothers out here doing it. If so, drop me a line, and Idea, Something.

Hi SuperMom. Wow...this sounds like a great and ambitious project. The above list is good because yo can begin knocking each item off your list as you research it and write content regarding each topic of concern. I know there are a ton of sites that deal with WAHM (Work At Home Moms) so you may want to investigate those first. Not being a mom I am not sure if I am qualified to give advice on any of the issues you raise but overall I think it will be a great site when it is done. The one thing I can say is that you have chosen a topic that is dear to many hearts and there's a great support network out there and in here to help you on your way. Best of luck and take care.

Default Thanks JazzGuy!

Thanks Jazz Guy for the advice. Writing content on each of the questions I mentioned is a great idea. Just praying that when my site is up, I and it has enough appeal to draw the targeted market in.

You are off to a good start. You realize one of the keys that a lot of folk never figure out. Appeal comes not just from the site, as such, but also from the person behind the site. And so far you are sounding "appealing."

That's what made this site successful. Just a few minutes on 2createawebsite.com and I said, "This is someone I can believe in and want to learn from." When Lisa started Website Babble, then, a lot of her followers jumped right in to participate. She has helped us and we enjoy helping her as well as all the others who come here to learn.

Now it is not from my web work, but I can guarantee you that it is possible to do all of number one through nine because my wife and I do just that. I won't even mention how we do it because I don't want the thinking to gravitate to that but rather to the fact that you can achieve all these things in various ways if that is what you commit yourself to achieve.

Now the second number nine (dumping your husband for a rich guy) is not a promising solution. I had a cousin who got herself a rich husband and it got her nothing but sorrow. Just because he has it wouldn't mean you did. It is much better to make yourself rich. That is the lasting solution.

Default Thanks

Thanks James for the advice,

My vision is somewhat different from the norm. For example as in homeschooling. I know that some parents actually take there children to the grocery store and the local bank to teach them about math from the basic to the most advanced. This is kind of how I want to structure my business, around everyday life, yet still be able to teach home business skills. This will take a lot of planning. Oh! and the part about dumping my husband was just a joke. LOL! He is indispensable in my eyes.

Hi Super Mom!

All is can say is WOW!, your post struck a chord with me...
I 110% agree with my fellow WBer James cause he hit the nail on the head with the fact that to be successful you need to resonate with your visitors and that's what you my friend have just done!

I feel you! I too have asked myself all of those questions...well, not #9 as Im a single mom... rich man sounds nice come to think about it.... oh no - wait...I want to create my own wealth!

I am positive that given some brainstorming and thought you can most certainly pull it off.

Why not start a blog about your journey (supermomstories.com) or a site about the psychology and drive behind us idealistic mothers (supermomsyndrome.com)?
I took the liberty of doing a search and the domains are not taken...hopefully they will get you thinking

I would suggest you stay away from "how to make money" site themes until you are actually doing so, only because I have heard many times that the credibility factor ain't there if you aren't making cash yet...?

I wish you all the best and look forward to hearing more! Best of luck!

Kerry's advice sounds great

I have to say that as a mother who feels less than a supermom 99 percent of the time, both blog ideas are ones I would follow.
