Default website up and running, what now?

Hello, i am at that stage again were i don't know what to do next. I have been working on my website now for 4 months and its now 165 pages. The address can be seen in my signiture is now up and running, i recently got banned from google ad sense...i dont even know why.

So i now use adbrite on my website which is quite good, they dont pay as much but they blend in more and offer the viewer change to display their ads directly on my site.

If anyone could take a look at my site and give some idea's that would be great.

Promote, promote, promote...That's my vote anyway. I checked on Google and you have been indexed however you have no links. I'd start finding every blog and forum you can related to skate boards and do what I'm doing here. Help spread the love...and make sure you have a link to your website in the signature block.

I see you have a link page. That's good. I've heard rumblings in the SEO world that calling it a link page may hurt your website in the near future. You may want to try calling it Partners or something. I'd also send out friendly requests for link exchanges at the blogs and forums you find.

I would make one change I would make to your site. Blue lettering on black backgrounds produce low contrast. This, in turn, creates a less then pleasing reading experience for your customers. Either change the black background to white or gray or the font color to white, yellow or green might help.

Concerning your Adsense banning...it might be for a bunch of reasons which you wont know unless you contact them for an explanation. Have you done that yet? How many Adsense ads did you have on your site? The maximum is three lots...if you had more then you would be banned...did you happen to click on your own ads? That would also put you in the Google dog-house. Even if you did it to check if the code was working that would still be a no-no. You can also go on the Google Adsense forums and ask why as well. If it was something minor you could always explain yourself and ask for re-instatement whic does happen.

And I agree with ewdowney...blue on black is whack dude! Best of luck.

Default One thing...

Has anyone said anything about that purple or whatever color it is (not my expertise) being very hard—virtually impossible—for some of us to read on that black background? Oh.

Well, I agree.

Wow i thank you all very much for your replys,

ewdowney

Thank you i will start promoting now, the problem with me is that i want to keep imporving the website before i promote but its at the stage now were my viewers have enogth content to keep them busy while i update the website. Also that's most likely true about the links page, i will change it to eather "friends pages" or "partners". Yeah your right its been buging me for a while now, the thing is with Homestead sitebuilder i can only have 1 link color per page so if i can that to white then my other links will turn white, i guess i will get rid of the black box. Ewdoney thanks allot for your reply, much appretiated.

Jazzguy

Yeah i have contact them but i havent got a reply as of yet, i know how important ad sense is to a content driven website so i made sure i read every rule, i had 2 skyscrapper ads on each page to the right were my new adbrite ads are, i never put any ads next to a picture and i clearly labeled the ads sponsored links which is allowed. I was viewing my website on AOL...about 1 week after displaying my ad sense ads on my website and i acsidently clicked on 1. The thing is this was about 3 months ago (was very scarred at the time). I got banned about a week ago, the day i got banned i actualy didnt have any viewers on my website.....but i did have one skyscapper on my blog. So it must have been something to do with my blog which i stated in my form to google. Yeah your right the blue on black is wack lol.

James

Thank it has already been said but wow 3 out of 3 people said it must be changed lol.

Thank you everyone!

To do list

- Change the links to the right
- rename my link exchange page

- Avertise!!!!!

You may have been clicking on your own ads. Normally if you do that Adsense will cancel you.

Default Can you tell me about skateboarding?

Actually your site looks pretty good. The adbrite ads need to be changed. The black background and blue header link is hard on the eyes.

But over all it is actually quite good. You now have to promote, market, blog, write articles about skateboarding. Obviously you are very knowledgable about your subject matter. Write articles about skateboarding and submit them to article directories. It will give you outbound links and possibly a higher pr. It works man.

Your site looks great! Now start promoting!...the more links to you site the better. But dont add you links in pure link exchange site, i heard that could screwup your ranking. Find sites that has content relevant to your subject and see if you get them to add links to your site.

Good luck!
