Making a PPC Website
Hello guys,
I was wondering if any of you got any idea on how to create a PPC (Pay Per Click) website?
What stuff would you need?
What skills?
Etc.

I'm not sure of the specific programming involved but I would imagine it would be quite complex. Think about all the scripting and automation that would be involved for the bidding and ranking sites, customer profiles and accounts, etc. Yikes I get a headache thinking about it! LOL
But even before that you would need the traffic to the site first. No one is going to sign up for a PPC site if the site doesn't get a large amount of search traffic. To me that would be the hardest part... generating the traffic and user demand. You could always pay a programmer to setup the site but the traffic would be the biggest challenge in my opinion.

Funny thing... I am looking for a good open source ad management system for selling ad space and I just came across this PPC script you can install on your site.

That's just it.. trying to build a new search engine to compete with the "big dogs" like Google, Yahoo, etc. is next to impossible unless you had a lot of money to advertise it. I would never recommend going after such a tough market.
Even if you were going to do something like this you wouldn't start out with a search engine. You'd create some kind of site that targets a certain audience (preferably Net marketers... but again another saturated and heavily competitive niche). Then once the site got popular THEN I'd try to add the PPC feature. You would have to find some way to build traffic to your site first.
The same principles would apply to creating any kind of other service. Gotta build credibility and traffic.
May I ask why the interest to tackle such a monster?

Hehe, I'm interested because these PPC sites are business and it's all connected. What I understand is: "X" Website owner pays for PPC sites to put their links. "X" gets more traffic every day. PPC gets money from "X's" payments. People get payed for clicking.
I can't explain it 100% clear right now, I still might need more information about this.
Hey Lisa please take this doubt out of my mind: More traffic = more money? Or more traffic just means more chances for people to click your Google Ads and stuff?

And you are exactly right, that's how it works but the first step is getting traffic to your site and you have to do something stellar to attract enough people to make them even want to invest in PPC. No purpose of having a PPC if no one is using your search engine.
So yes, I understand what you want to do, my concern is that building up enough traffic to spark interest is going to be the challenge. Not saying you can't do it, just saying it's a big hairy monster.
More traffic definitely means a greater chance of earning more because there are people with traffic and still not making much simply because they don't monetize effectively. That's when it comes back to knowing WHO your audience is and defining this niche before you begin your site.

So you mean that if I get more traffic I earn more?
Or ONLY IF AND ONLY IF they click my Google and other ads?

If you get the RIGHT kind of targeted traffic. All traffic is not necessarily good traffic. For example a lot of people who first start promoting their websites they start sending emails to their Myspace and Facebook friend list. While that's traffic, it's not necessarily targeted traffic (in other words, people interested in your specific content)
So if you have the right kind of traffic for your site then yes, the monetization part (making money) is usually pretty simple.
Unfortunately many people build their sites without regards to who they want to target so they get stuck when it comes to generating traffic. But if you have a core audience in mind and develop your site with their needs in mind, once you get traffic, making money with Adsense is the easy part.

Sounds like a good plan. Yeah I think the PPC site should be something you tackle down the road after you've generated some $$$ from at least one site.
