B-Ball Season Again
It's that time again! NBA Season!
There was a lot of trades and and deals going on. Lakers, Cavs, Celtics, Magic.... How do I decide. It would be easy if my Bobcats were in the running, but that's not gonna happen.
What's you pick?

I'm late on the news! I was prepping my fantasy team for our league and just heard Shaq is with Cleveland now. He just needs to retire. LOL I have no predictions as of yet. We'll have to see how things play out when the season starts.

Celtics bro. Ha. Huge Celtics fan. Paul Pierce "the truth" is my player. Adding Rasheed and Daniels. Wow. Lisa grab Rajon Rondo Celtics point guard if you can. He's going to have another big year and just puts up great numbers. Look for Celtics Lakers in the Finals. I can guarantee that.

My team is the Sixers, but I don't expect much from them this year...unless they get lucky with a good trade during the break. I hate to say this, but it looks like the Celtics and Lakers will be the teams to watch.
Thank goodness for post-season baseball. Go Phillies!

I wanted Rondo but someone else got him before I could snag him. I agree he's going to have a big year.

I too am a Sixers fan. I proudly rep all Philly teams, regardless of how good or bad they are. But I don't follow basketball too much. I'm more of a football fan. But for now I'm all about baseball since our team is only 1 game away from another world series - GO PHILLIES!!

How much trash talking is allowed Lisa? Because you can call me the city dump if I cut loose.
I can respect Rondo. He is quickly becoming one of my favorite players. But The Truth was a Lie last season (well, maybe a fib. I respect Paul a lot). However, KG should have gotten the MVP of the finals that year. The spirit of the team was busted when KG went out. But regardless of who you like, the East is gonna have some great match-ups this year between Cleveland, Boston, & Orlando (in that order of greatness).
West, I too love the home team, but my Bobcats don't have a chance this year.
If I had a fantasy team, I would pick up Lebron, Vince, Shaq, Jermain Oneal, Wade, & Rondo because these guys will benefit from the changes on their teams, mostly through assists first, then points.

There are no trash talk rules here. LOL I got Wade and Vince on my team. But our league is so small everyone has great teams.
Speaking of fantasy teams, would anyone be interested in doing a WB fantasy league? I know the league starts in a week so we would have to hurry up and get started but if there are at least 6 people interested, I would set one up. It would be free and I'd use Yahoo to manage it.
I'm a fantasy sports aholic. LOL

Not really. You are drafted a team based on your rankings. (If you don't want to rank the players you can use Yahoo's default) Normally you have to choose which players to start every night, but I'll set it up so no one has to update their roster. So you'll get points for all players on your team as long as they have a game that night.
I'll set it up so it's maintenance-free. But somehow I don't think we'll get the interest though. Not a lot of b-ball fans here based on other threads that were started.

Alpha.. You need to watch more Celtics. I am talking respectfully though no worries, but first of all Pierce was injured and gassed by the playoffs time last year. He played all year long, was tired playing full minutes all year, and was the Celtics leading scorer last season. They just got abused at the 4 and 5 with no big-man play or depth in playoffs. For your finals comment, did you even watch the finals? Ha. He was by far the biggest factor. The pick and roll was the story of the finals if you ask celtics or lakers fans. No one could stop Pierce in the finals and won and deserved the MVP so easily. It was clearly the mis-match factor at the 3 position and what "the truth" did that made it not much of a series. If it wasn't all Pierce it was all the Lakers lack of a 3 stepping up. (Odom/Ariza got owned) Yes if not KG at the 4 Pierce gets guarded more straight-up though I will admit.
Sorry man, just defending my boy Pierce as I watch every game and know the C's well.
Also Lisa I am from near Milwaukee and went to every Marquette University home game to see Wade play and man was that something. I was shocked every game and in live action have never seen an athlete like that in my life. Tuesday night Celtics at Cav's. Wow I can't contain myself. Haa. Best of luck to all of your teams. And again alpha no disrespect just b-ball convo.

Oh man, no problem. I love some good trash talk. I just think they should factor in defense for the MVP running. I mean, everyone knows defense wins games. I hate it when a team gets someone like KG and all of a sudden someone benefits and steals the glory. I honestly believe Boston could have scored without Pierce. But the defense sucked without KG. On a team like Boston, whoever has the ball in their hands has a chance at getting the finals MVP. That of course will be Pierce.
I will, however, have to eat my words with Shaq. He looks a little lazy right now. He didn't play a lot of minutes in the opener, but he still looked like he didn't want the ball. He could have easily gotten position in the block on Perkins. He just didn't work at it.
But anyway, feel free to talk trash. Lisa gave us the green light. Just don't talk about my momma.
