What do you do?

Have you considered other sources of incomes? Even a different job?

I'm a 19 yr old college student working a fast food job. I had to take this semeter off and I'm now working 40 hours per week. I love making Websites and hope to start making some money making sites soon.

I'd suggest you try looking for freelance web design work around campus, that way you can make money AND pursue your interests. I worked for a year as a part-time web designer for my school's student government.

Fast food is a rough place to work. It's not easy and you get paid minimum wage. At the very least, you could also try finding a simple minimum wage job that lets you study at work. Keep your eyes open, bud! Good luck.

Where before u quit, ask yourself if u can feed yourself without that job, if yes, then do it!

And to develop your interest, if no, then think again!

But, as long as u have strong will, u can do anything!

good luck, dude!

I currently don't have a 9-5 because I found a boyfriend whose company sent him to the other side of the world, and I tagged along. I'm dreading the day we return to Canada (June 2010) because I know he expects me to work. Sometimes I think I would rather be homeless than work for someone else. I'm not even kidding.

I think it's important that we humans don't rely on our external work for happiness. I strive to be the person who brings happiness TO my work. In other words, I'm a happy person, no matter where I am. And I've been mostly successful at this. Even when I worked at Wal-Mart (which is a crappy place to work), I was a happy guy. Probably one of their most happy employees.

With that said, it is easier to be happy in happy environments. This is true. And it's ideal that we follow our passions and have our external work be a reflection of what we desire internally. So anyway... where am I going with this? Well, I'm encouraging everyone to BE THE SOURCE!

I certainly know where you’re coming from.

I worked part time at a toy retail store (Toys 'R Us), the pay was pretty good considering I was under 18 at the time but the hours where crazy. I used to go to sixth form Monday - Friday and then work Saturday and Sunday. Although the money was good I had no time to enjoy life.

Working there and watching how a business is run first hand allowed me to come to the decision I never want to work for anyone else because the truth is your just another employee in most companies. You put in all the work for very little pay and the managers always seem to think they are amazing and have so much power but in reality they are just like you since they also receive orders from their boss.

Thank god I discovered the possibilities online and found the right resources. Im not looking to become rich online but im certain looking to make a full time living in the next couple years. I think it's the same for most people on this forum. It’s not about the money but rather the freedom.

The best thing is anyone who is willing to try can change their life for the better.

If you and I believe it will happen. To our success *raises glass

I also would love to make enough money online to not have to work outside the Home. I can feel your pain regarding working in fast food Dimitrius. Fast food is hardwork, low paying, and thankless work. I have done my time of fast food. I also worked as a line cook in a restaurant for 4 1/2 years. That was a very high stress, hot job with long hours and low pay. I've had jobs that I've enjoyed as well. I worked for 6 1/2 years as a cook in a care home cooking for 110 residents. That was also hard work and I didn't enjoy it very much, but at least the pay was good. My most recent job was working as a nursing assistant in a long term care home for 2 1/2 years. I loved that job, though it was very hard work and stressful at times. Sure makes a difference going to a job that you love. For the last 2 1/2 years I've been on Medical Leave. Would love to be able to make enough money online, even so I just had to work outside the Home part time. I think what stops me from making a lot of money online, is I keep losing focus. I'll be all excited about one project for awhile. Than I don't get the results I'd expect and I find it hard to have the motivation to continue with my project. I've made some mistakes along the way as well. I submitted 20 articles from my website to Ezine Articles. As a result, Google seems to have penalized me for duplicate content. I don't get any search engine traffic on the pages I submitted to Ezine Articles. I've had my website up and running since Jan/2009, yet I only get about 45 unique visitors a day - around 10 of those from Google.

I believe you. I've imagined myself in just that state, trying to figure out if I could handle it. I'd play these little mind games telling myself, 'well, I could live in my house for maybe a year before they'd throw me out on the curb and I could use that money to start over somehow, and just let the house go; or if I took in an elderly tenant, or foster kids, I could free myself from my job (but I don't want that kind of responsibility). You know your work is bad when you're considering giving up creature comforts to get away from it.

But, u know, at the current stage, we still have to work for money, not for interest. In that case, it is really hard to get rid of the stress!
