ICE STORM.
There was a huge ice storm here last night. I pretty much knew I wouldn't have school so I stayed up all night xD Good thing I was right!
The trees are beautiful with ice and snow stuck to them. Here's a couple pictures from the local news site:
Isn't it pretty? ^______________^';
I wish I had a digital camera. It'd make a great subject for a layout. And I could show my friends on websitebabble summore pretty pictures.

Wow, great pictures. We got it here too. I'm visiting family in St. Louis and we've gone between sleet and rain for the past 3-4 days. I'm ready to go back to Dallas for some warm sunshine!

Resident of Iowa and I don't think I'll ever leave. xD
Our last storm was last week, but we didn't even get out early. That was a bad call, since some kids crashed on the way out of the parking lot.

Well you people are lucky to get snowfall and ice storms...
Here in Karachi, the temperature doesn't go below the 10 degrees Celsius mark in winter. And its quite warm in the afternoon, with the nights being frightfully cold... but not below 10 degrees!

Wow, so if I dig deep and think back to my elementary school days and use that formula to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit, that's about 50 degrees Fahrenheit. I would love to live in a city that wouldn't go below that temp.
I am a warm weather gal and hate cold weather!

I won't go into how cold it could get up here in Canada. We haven't had too much bad weather as of yet, not even an ice storm
We did get a few inches of snow a few weeks ago, but since then the temperature has been hovering around 0 Celsius (32F for my American friends).
January and February are usually the coldest and harshest of the year.

I'm less than 2 hours north of Sydney and we rarely drop below 10... well often enough in the winter but I'm usually in bed

Being a Canadian, I totally agree with TG. Although last Winter was not bad at all...this year however, Winter is supposed to be brutal if you believe the weather/climate professionals. In 1998 we had our own ice storm which left some areas of Montreal/Quebec without power for well over a month. I myself was without electricity for three weeks in the freezing cold...thankfully a week into it I was able to stay at a friend's house who for whatever reason, had power all the way through. Thinking on it later on, it was kind of fun, for me at least, but during the ordeal it was a pain in the a**. Beautiful pictures augenauf...

I hate cold weather too! Not kidding, I have some weird thyroid-ish sensitivity to it (not severe enough to need medication, just severe enough to compel me to wear jackets at seventy). But I couldn't leave the Midwest regardless ^^';
And yeah, it is about fifty Fahrenheit. I googled it. xD

Ice storms are soooo pretty but it is horrible for travel. School was canceled for me AGAIN today because the roads aren't cleared yet. xD
I don't know about the weather in Canada, but I'm going to guess it gets colder up there since it's farther north, particularly inland.
Not that it's always warm here. -gonks- X_X; I can remember days where 15*F seems like a beautiful day after all of the -15*F days... January is horrible. D;
((PS, TG, thanks for the conversion. I don't know anything about Celcius other than the obvious, like zero degress is freezing. I've only ever used Celcius in chemistry, and that does no good as far as getting a feel for the numbers.))

It would be nice to not go below 10 Celsius, but then again it's nice to get the two seasons up here: Winter and Construction.
Seriously, I do enjoy getting a variety of weather, but sometimes it can seem like January and February can drag on. When it does get into the double-digits again, many people will be out without jackets (even if it is just 10 Celsius) since they will be used to much colder temperatures.

Cold is something I'll never get used to. xD
Oh! There was a skit that a comedian did once... it went something liiiiike...
"I ran into a few Canadians down here and California and they said that Cali is nice to visit, but they couldn't live here because they love seasons too much. I told them that I love seasons too--that's why I live in an area that skips all the ****ty ones."
It was funny, even though I understand the "Canadian Mentality" there. The snow is pretty sometimes, and the coldness ads variety to life!

I've experienced 3 upstate NY winters and it was possibly the coldest I've ever felt. I'll stick to the wind & rain over here.
Cool photos.

pfft, it's basically raining every day here in Vancouver. I hate rain. I used to live in Edmonton, where there was LOTS of snow and ice. ah, good times.
