Im the same Webdev, Im really excited about this 'new' move for me. The people seem great and I will have more room for creativity. My last position I was very restricted by the fact I was directly dealing with the owner and it was one of those "...its my company..." moods. Plus Newbay have over 60 developers so I know I will learn alot from them as well as teach alot. And like any new job, it will bring more experince and knowledge.

Talking Job update

Today I signed my employment contract with my new employers. And I have to hand it to them, they really know what there doing. The contract was 12 pages long and all the terms has me very very happy. I work a 37.5 hour week, 24 days off a year, yearly salary review, yearly bonuses, share options, expenses cover (if any incurred) and if for any reason I am sick I will be covered by them for upto 6 weeks full paid per 12 months.

In my last job, I worked nearly a 45 hour week, 20 days off a year, no contract, expense was covered on approved stuff, and no sick cover and a quater less then what I am on now, and nearly a quater less then what I am on now.

Congrats again!

4 weeks of vacation and 6 weeks of emergency leave. that is crazy!!!!

I had okay benefits and stuff at my last employer but i was kind of under paid there.

My new employer has slightly better benefit options with more vacation period, better pay, and not to mention a good bonus package which my last employer didn't have. They use to give out gift cards and stuff during Christmas, that's all. Last christmas we got a ipod nano. I would rather settle for a cash bonus than a ipod...lol that's why I sold mine..:lol

Thats kinda normal here, but what I forgot to say is that the package doesnt include the public holidays which total 8 paid days off a year. So the total days off per year is 32 working days. You have to love the perks of being Irish and living in Europe!
