What is the movie of the year?
Well, I think there are at least two movies deserving this title. These are Terminator 4 and Transformers 2. What do you think?
P.S. To moderators: sorry for possible writing to a wrong category but I didn't find any other category for general chat.

I don't think it was the movie of the year, but I would vote for "Marley and me"...William Wilson

I prefer movies of the year to be good movies. I haven't heard anything good about either Terminator 4 or Transformers 2. Even though I like special effects, I don't have an inkling to seen these two in theaters.
Movies such as Harry Potter are known to be blockbusters, but I'll have to see what comes out in the latter part of the year. I bet it will probably be a sleeper hit that will be movie of the year.

Well it was the longest book , but they turned it into the shortest film, cut out the best moments and cut so much out that someone who hadn't read the book would have struggled to understand the plot.

I would have to strongly disagree with you there... Movie of the year? No way!
Public Enemies is very good, maybe not film of the year though. The best I've seen so far in 2009. I'm hearing good things about (500) Days of Summer from its advanced screenings. It could be good
Actually, I saw Gran Torino in January in the cinema, but I know that had a 2008 American release, so it probably doesn't count!

So far, my choice for best movie of the year is the new Transformers film. Terminator wasn't bad but I liked Transformers better. I'm also anxious to see the new Twilight movie later this year. It's still too early to choose one as "best".

I don't know if you meant movie of THIS year or LAST year, but since I just saw it last month, I'll have to go with... SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE. And yes, that is my final answer.

Just because it earns a lot at the box-office doesn't mean it's a good film
