Does anyone else think it is creepy that Google Analytics can track almost everything about you? It shows what city you are visiting a site from, all the way down to your internet company.

Google Analytics isn't the only stat keeper that will give you those type of stats. I think g.a. was geared towards those seasoned webmasters who could use these type of stats to their benefit. I like looking at my stats actually. But yeah, it's slightly creepy. I use g.a. with wordpress. If you were having to prepare a financial report on some level, g.a. can be set up to do all the manual stat work for ya. Well, that's what it does automatically. It does supply info that other stat keepers don't such as your bounce rate, etc. You can use g.a. to help in determining what you might want or need to change with your blog or website.

Im not even joking when I say I think about this allot. They are trying to take over the Internet and predict everything. Notice how they took over Youtube and some smaller video sites.

They are coming out with some sort of social networking tool which will allow people do update all their profiles, chat on Msn etc all from one piece of program.

Google scare me allot!

But you just have to love Analytics!

well google analytics and produce with more accurate results than any other tracking tool you might come across and to give that much accurate results it might have to track the details of all the visitors in depth, so that you understand better about your visitors and tweak your blog or website accordingly.

Yea it is creepy the problem is it isnt just analytics nearly everywhere you go your visit will be tracked in some way! its probly best not to think about it so you dont lose any sleep!

yes just know that even posting in this forums, your details are tracked, and admin can see your ip and where you are from..

Yeah, it seems that whatever Google has its hands in, there's always an option somewhere to add friends, create and build a social network, and make cyber strangers....well, less strange. Your anonymity is very blurred because of Google's social networking philosophy. They are a step ahead of other like companies. Nothing wrong with trying to dry up the competition. No one stays at the top forever...

It is true that Google can get a lot of infomation of us, but we can also make use of different tools to get a lot of info about our site, I guess.

We are sure that Google won't do us any bad, so I think it is okay!

Excellent tool and personally I really like it. It's certaintly nothing to be too concerned with or worry about. I don't think it's a 'creepy' thing, it helps us to understand the symantics of our sites and blogs and that's a good thing. No worries-
