HTML Permissions For Website Babble Lounge
I've got an idea. Only for the WB lounge, maybe Lisa can enable HTML for random discussion(e.g. Youtube videos, Imeem songs, etc.) . Of course, if there's any abuse(from spammers), we all know the drill lol.

vbulletin strongly recommends you never enable HTML due to abuse BUT I did create a BB Code tag for YouTube videos a while back. I'll have to dig it out and post the instructions. Although I'd have to think about that one because if people get crazy with embedding video, it could slow down the performance of the forum over time.

I'd like to suggest something that prevents new people from posting links in the New Members section. Last couple days I've noticed a ton of link spam and pornography and I'm pretty sure the mods are getting sick of me reporting it all

On the contrary MDN...please keep on doing what you are doing...as MODS we are not on here 24/7 and it is nice to have a community where everyone is looking out for everyone. We do appreciate it and welcome it. Thanks and take care.

jazzguy is right! Please keep reporting and I'm sorry you guys have to deal with this. But since the 5 of us can't be on here all the time it's great when members report links. We appreciate it. Trust me, that's my #1 wish too MDN (new posters not being able to post links).

Hi Lisa, I was trying to report a spammy post today, and a message appeared saying that I'm not allowed to do that.
also said that it might be due to not having enough posts, I'm sure thats mot the issue because I have reported spam to you many times before.

not a suggestion
Hi, this is more of a question
I use my itouch to access the site when I can't use my laptop but I can't log in because the links above the login section are lower down and they cover the login area so I am brought to the 2 create a website blog instead, this is not a problem because if I want to reply to a post a new login area apperars and I can sign in there, was just wondering if this is the same for other iphone/touch users?

I agree with Jazzguy and Lisa. Because I'm not always on, the alerts force me to turn into the BABBLE AVENGER! I have vowed to wipe out spam day or night. It is the help from responsible citizens like you that make the difference.
Was that a little over the top? I can't always tell.

Have an Idea Lisa
Why don't we make a Website Diary here on website babble where we can all share out progress with others. It would turn out something like all our case studies, we could learn from each other what helped boost our sites and blogs and learn what didn't help, what do you think??

I just read this today and missed it earlier. That's strange. Not sure why that would be. Let me check your permissions.

an idea?
Lisa
Just a thought
When I joined this site I was interested in the other members websites and I was looking through the posts to see if there was one about the other members projects like a list of the members websites etc
What if you made a thread/post like "our members projects" where you list a link to each members current project, website or blog along with their name or join date or whatever, if you put them all in one post that only certain people/you could edit then people couldn't just post their own sites links.
There would have to be limits, like being a member for a certain amount of time/ being an active member and having a certain amount of posts and/ or reputation points etc.
I obviously don't know anything about running a forum, so if this is something that would be a problem or would end up being a lot of work for you, it is not what I intended, just an idea
I do know though that it was something I looked for, because before I joined I wanted to see what the people in the forum where really about - that they were real people making real websites
And thanks Lisa and everyone, this forum has been great, everyone is so nice and nobody ever makes you feel unwelcome or intimidated if you know less than others
Thanks
also sorry if there is already something like this
