I am also well aware that publicity takes time. I do not see how this can annoy you. I

It's just that I love all the technical stuff and hate all the marketing stuff. So I would really like it if building my own website was all that was involved. Unfortunately I have to learn all about the psychology of customers with weird twists in their brains, instead of sticking to simple HTML and CSS and PHP.

The first website I built was for my high school. They didn't have one yet. This was when I was a senior. I also built a website for my mom's 20th high school reunion around the same time.
After that, I built a personal website or two, then I got my first paying gig working on the website of the local newspaper (I was in college by this point).

I am currently working on my first website. I am finding myself doing too much research to the point where I am finding it difficult to pull the trigger on many decisions. I know exactly what I want just trying to figure out the best way to execute it is driving me crazy.

don't drift away with planning, DO plan but don't plan too much that you don't start acting, and start experimenting with your plans, that way you really will discover new things that you didn't realize before.

I built my first website when I was around 13. It originally started into a "clan" site for me and my buddies who played starcraft, and then it turned into a cheating website and all of that fun black-market stuff, haha. It was what really turned me onto webmastering. In its hey-day, it was a constant #1 in rankings for a pretty popular niche.
Not too long ago, one of my friends pointed me to http://www.archive.org , which is like a "time machine" for websites. I looked up my website and saw all of my news posts and all that. It was hilarious to the gaps in news posts because of how often I was grounded...

well it's funny to be a web designer for two years now and not own a website,
I've been designing websites now for others for 2 years and my first blog was 2 weeks ago, but now I'm designing a website that I'll launch in a month maybe

The first website started by my hubby and i started out as guild site. We were/are into Guild Wars game and we had our own guild so members of our guild would go to the site and have more fun when not playing the game. Then we changed the site a couple times to other things, now its a search engine. We won't be changing it again, which is good!!!

My first website was on recipe and it was fine in the initial stage but later on when I was unable to give enough time to this website, it went down.
But however this one is still on air and close to my heart as well. Design of this website is something like a 14 years old creation.

I created my first website in the late 90's called Christopher's Place, which primarily contained links to various sites that I liked. The very first time that I surfed the Internet was back in 1997 on a computer at our public library. I had no idea what to do or where to go on the Internet, but I caught fairly quickly The first computer that I owned was actually not a PC but WebTV, where you could access your email and the Internet using your TV as a monitor. Currently, I access the Internet on an Acer Aspire laptop PC.
