Luckily for me, I don't have to drive far to work and the shopping areas are nearby so the impact has been minimal.

But I have friends/colleagues in the states who live 65-70 miles away (affordable housing in CA) from work and they are feeling the pinch.

Gas prices are ridiculous! I don't do any unnecessary driving at all. And if someone wants a ride from me then i'm sorry no more freebies you gotta chip in!

Well, I do try to help others when I can. I just loaned some money for gas to a guy a work. I think I'm gonna let him keep it. I'm on salary and he is hourly and only getting 40 hours a week, sometimes less. He had to cancel his family vacation, and his wedding anniversary because things are so bad. You never know when you may need help.

That's a great deed, Alpha7. I love being generous as well.

Going on a tangent... if I were getting paid hourly, I would be making bank! Salary pay is the biggest scam ever! lol

Yeah it's good to help people out no doubt. I give free rides and help people too who are less fortunate and down financially. But there's free loaders out there too just trying to use others as a taxi on a regular basis while splurging their money on other things. These are the type of people that have to chip in if they wanna roll with me!

Dealing very fine.
I have car that doesn't take too much of it. 6L/100km and 7.5L/100km in town.

I really love driving around i really don't care how much it costs.
I could take full tank of gas (70L) and drive to empty with one day, i really don't care.
Driving a car is my passion.

This is a no brainer. I turn 19 in three days and I still haven't learned how to drive. I figure I'll try to sail for as long as I can on the shoulders of public transportation....

...you know, before I actually have to grow up or something.

I was also 19 years ago and i didn't have no driving license or car, nothing. I had other interests at this time.
Then i went in driving school when i was 21. I got really good and easy job. I was working at the same time (full time job: 9 to 5) but school was only 2 times in a week. I spent on it almost 3 months and 1500 bucks but i did it.
Now im driving and enjoying it fully.

no matter how high the price is, it can't get any worse than vancouver's.

Here, you'll need around 60-70$ for a full tank of oil.

Whats the usual size of the tank there?

65-70 litres of gas costs to us here ~100$ +/- 20$

I live in Mississippi, drive to work and back (15 miles) and stay home the rest of the time. I have it planned where almost all my stops are on the way. I had to learn the Winn Dixie and desert the Wal-Mart across town I plan to get a motorbike in the future. It will be good to ride one again but I think riding the roads these days on one is more dangerous than when I used to ride a dirt bike. I was kinda stupid on that bike but geesh it was FUN. Maybe I won't mind getting wet in the rain when I pump 5 bucks in the tank and can get to work all week with it
