Default WalMart Sucks!

A super walmart just opened directly across the street from where I work. Today is their grand opening. One of my co-workers just came back from lunch and said the traffic is ridiculous out there. It took her forever to get out of our parking lot.

Everyone at my job has been dreading this day for months now! We are not looking forward to all the congested traffic that walmart will bring. And to top it off, they have a Sam's club right next to the walmart. They did put a traffic light in front of our exit driveway, but I don't think that will make a difference.

I know they have low prices, but what else is so special about this store? Every time one opens up, that area goes downhill quickly. There's going to be shopping carts and bags everywhere!! Can you imagine what I'll have to go through around the holiday season??? I might have to leave home earlier than usual just to make it in on time!!!

Walmart sucks!!!

I couldn't agree more. I'd actually rather pay the extra .50 cents and go to Target. It's just not worth it to me. When I first moved to Dallas I lived around the corner from a Walmart and I would drive out of my way to get to other stores just to avoid that place. There were more shopping carts parked in the lot than cars. LOL They announced on the news last night they're opening a new one in Garland Texas today and they were interviewing all the residents who were so excited about the new store. All I could think was crowds, crowds and more crowds.

Maybe I don't have shopping down like you women....but Target is way more than .50 more...way more....but Wal-Mart does suck big time....they are pretty spread out nicely in my city so traffic is cool, but my prob is all the lines that are closed on the busiest days...and all is want is some batteries or something simple...

Default Target Rules!!

I'm a Target person myself. I really don't do Wal Mart because I don't like the layout of the store. There are only two in my area (at least that I know of) and one of them is so tight and cluttered inside, you really can't move the basket around. I took my mother there once and it was packed and I told her we have to leave because I just can't stand the tight small isles and all the people make to worse. We left and guess were I took her? Across the street to a much better laid out Target. I love Target. Although they really don't make clothes to fit a 'sista'.

JaMina, I agree. Target is waaaaay better than walmart. I don't care how crowded target is, even if it's black Friday, the lines always move fast, the stores are kept clean, and it's easy to walk around the store with a shopping cart. My sister used to work at target and I loved it because she got me a discount card. Then she quit and I was soooooo upset. but then my other sister started working there, so I can still get a discount. But even without a discount, I think Target's prices are very reasonable. And I love their clothes and shoes!!! The shopping world would be perfect if Target could buy out walmart

Haha, I've lived in the suburbs in Miami for 19 years of my life now and we've had a Walmart store here for as long as I can remember, the traffic is always terrible as I live very close to the railway line, too

Thus, me walking everywhere (and I actually like public transport, odd I know!). Good for the soul, haha

It definitely sounds like you are not happy with Walmart,

Here in South Africa is no Walmart, but there are shopping centres that that have similar problems.

My friend from South Korea says that walmart failed where she lives. She said she doesn't mind visiting the one here, but she's glad that she doesn't have any back home. XD The one here is particularly ghetto. D;

Default They need a 24hour target

So I work with a group of ladies that range from in their 30s to their 60 somethings...and im 22. For some odd reason it came up about why they all dont go to Walmart. (they wouldve loved this blog) So my manager (yes manager) was telling us a story about this lady I believe that cut her off in the parking lot (because people who shop at walmarts are usually ignorant or just treat things like crap, supposedly) so she took a whole bunch of shopping carts and surrounded them around the ladies car. I just couldnt believe that my manger a women in her 40's did this to someone and she said it was better than her keying her car. I was wowed myself...but as the way she sometimes act towards us, I could believe. SO long story short they were pretty much stating that shopping at Walmart brings the worst out in people. I do not get off until late sometimes, and Target closes at 9 or 10 sometimes, and so I always end up going to walmart. It is always so crowded, and the people are just so rude sometimes...my mom always complains about GEEZ THESE CASHIERS NEVER HAVE A SMILE ON THEIR FACES..and then she goes on about how when she worked...and blah blah blah. So i think someone needs to tell target they need to be 24 hours or stay open later... = ( just for me...lol jk

I live is Dallas, TX and have a Walmart to the north, south, east and west of me. Walmart is Everywhere! It can get congested no doubt but they stay open 24 hours which is a plus for me.
