If you are not already familiar with Google apps you should be.

Google Apps is a set of online office tools similar to MS Office, including an word processor, spreadsheet application, and Presentation Creator. All of course are compatible with Microsoft's Office products. Google makes it seamless to share your docs to others and collaborate your work in real time.

The only difference is that they are free and you can access your documents anywhere in the world.

Well apparently Microsoft has had enough of this and is going to try to compete with google.

Shouldn't they know you can't beat Google?

Very interesting battle that's heating up.

I played with Google apps, but their new offline editing ability is definitely threading on Microsoft's Office suite territory.

I think that competition is healthy and will just make it better for consumer in the long run.

I am in complete agreement with Lajocar the more the two parties compete over different types of software for us users the more advanced technology they will use just to get us all hooked so its definitely a plus these two major companys competing for exposure.

The largest search engine company versus the largest software company...interesting. I haven't seen Microsoft back down from a challenge.

I tried Google Apps last night after a long time and I must say that it is pretty good. I wanted to try offline functionality, but couldn't find the download link.

Does any of you guys know where I can get the download link for offline functionality?
