The stupidest thing I have ever heard

Hello,

I have been posting an advert for my hosting every week (as many others do) on a popular forum (I won't name it) and I received 2 infractions saying I posted it in the wrong forum. Now I know I posted it in the web-hosting forum but the moderators moved it to the freebies forum. Now there is a reason for this and a very stupid one. This is what I found out.

Is it only me who thinks this is a very stupid rule? The way I see it is a service/product is either free or it's not...

What is your opinions on this?

Maybe they should change the forums to low-cost or free?

they should have a free/paid section in there forums.

I go to Starbucks at lot and I do not consider a drink under $5.00 free. Free means you pay nothing. Yes it is a stupid rule.

Hey sequencehosting,

I see your still helping out the troops, you sure helped me out with my folder problem I was having on my site. I thank you again my friend. I see you have a banner, I think the admin in the forum you spoke of just saw the free and then just cooked your goose without really looking at it.

I have done a few banners on the content network, and in my tests I have found that "try it before you buy it", "try us before you buy us" or even "risk free trial" converts better than "Free Trial" I keep the word free out of it. Even on campaigns I use free as a negative keyword, very few of those people that click anything with free, rarely convert into a sale anyway.
