Default Switching from godaddy to hostgator?

im new to this so this may be a stupid question but i have a developed wordpress blog hosted at godaddy and now i want to switch over to hostgator. how can this be done the easiest way?

and how will i transfer my wordpress blog over to hostgator?

First you'll need to backup your blog database. There's a plugin called WPDatabase Backup that allows you to do this. Or you can do it through your hosting control panel. Then you'll need to export all your posts and comments from the Tools menu in the WP admin panel.

Once you've done those things, you can re-upload your database to hostgator and then Import your posts and comments in the Admin panel and you are ready to go.

thanks, im getting around 1500-2000(for now) people a day to the site and i am streaming video which requiers a lot of bandwith as you know.

would you recommend hostgator as the best webhost for my situation?

Yes I would recommend hostgator for high bandwidth, I don't know if it's the best, because I have not used all the webhosts naturally, but it is good.
