Thread: Another Wordpress + Hosting Question

I understand that if I have my blog at "blahblah.wordpress.com" that I can NOT advertise.

What about if I host my blog at "Hosting company X" and use the wordpress application. (Download). Can I then advertise on my blog (now: blahblah.com) because I am not being hosted by wordpress? Or do I still have the limitation of wordpress?

You got it. My blog is hosted on my own host and I can place ads and do anything I want in terms of monetization. As long as it's hosted on your own domain you can add ads to your blog.

Yup, wordpress.org is a different animal than wordpress.com.

You can definitely place ads on our Wordpress blog if your blog is hosted with a hosting provider. You will have full access to your blog and it will allow you to place ads on your website as and when you want.

The hosting package you have for your blog will not make a difference

Make sure to get a hosting account that has PHP you'll need that if your going to use the wordpress blog software on your website.
