Homestead is the worst hosting company ever! Support is a joke

A complete joke of a company.

As some of your know I took the best decision possible online and moved from Homestead to Hostgator. I tried to cancel my Homestead account 2 months ago since I had my site up and running on HostGator/Godaddy (after 2 weeks of fighting Homestead for my domain!). But all of their support numbers didn't work! so I had to create a ticket to cancel my account. It took me 3 days just to get a decent answer and not one that was paste from their knowledge base. The staff member said she was sorry for the amount of time it has taken to close my account, simply reply with cancel and I will personally cancel your service. So I did. Great! now I can finally forget about Homestead and their terrible support.

NOT A few days ago I received my bank statement in the mail only to find Homestead still charging me a rip of price of $23.00 / month for the most limited service imaginable.

So I check my account to find that I can still log in and it hasn't been deleted at all. Is this some sort of joke? No it turns out they didn't delete my account at all and were still charging me!

After contacting their support again I didn't get a reply at all but only a confirmation email that my account has been deleted hoooorrraaaayyyy

no more Homestead.

We have already had a post from someone who had their Homestead account deleted for no reason for saying there support was terrible (It's very true)

A warning to anything thinking of using Homestead, DONT it will save you allot of hassle and money.

I really do hope the recession eats up Homestead.

Man....im never going to use homestead, thanks for tips in advance. So did you get the extra money charged you back?

Nope and I never will. It would take more effort and time than the 23.99 is worth. I have sent them a complaint and would rather forget about them now.

Great way, to get over it. So im definitely never going to use homestead!

Yeah it took 2 months for them to finally give me my domain, imagine trying to get a refund for 23.99 they would just paste something from there knowledge base.

That's a wise choice my friend.

Sorry to hear about your homestead problem, but they really do suck. Their service is totally limited and cost way too much. I started with them cause it was suppose to be "easy". I couldn't even upload certain image types. I canceled after only 2 days. I was not going to convert all of my images just cause they couldn't handle them. They truly do suck.!
Sometimes it isn't worth the fight. I would have probably let them keep the $23.99 to.

Hehe yeah I can tell you tried them because you said "I would have probably let them keep the $23.99." I agree it would be more anoying trying to get it back than just leaving them for good. Since leaving them I have learnt html/CSS and it's 100000000000000000 times better.
