I've been using webs for a couple of months now and I like it. Never had any problems... so far!
I think free hosting is great just for fooling around and see what it's like to have a website. Write content, add pictures, links, see the stats, etc. That's what I'm doing at the moment, while I learn css, html and all the other stuff with notepad & coffeecup. It's just a small website to share with family and friends. I don't spend that much time maintaining it and if I were to lose it tomorrow it wouldn't be too much of a hassle.
But once I'm ready for the big jump of having a website to share information with the 'wide world' or to try and make some money, I would definitely go for a paid host.

yes you can use a free hosting for fun but once you get in to serious business with your website then free hosting cannot deliver what you are looking for.

Well, if you wish to host your website just for fun and you do not wish to earn money from it then you can choose a free web hosting provider. However, if you are looking for some serious business and you wish to have a reliable solution then free web hosting is not for you.
If you wish to host a website from which you would like to earn some money then paid hosting would be the best solution for you as you will get a reliable solution for your web hosting needs (depends on the web hosting provider you choose )

It's an old addage
You get what you pay for............
I know it doesn't help much but it's true. If your a cable subscriber you are already paying for "free hosting". If you want your own domain name you can get one and register that with a place like "yournamefree.com" and have your domain point to your cable provided website.

I agree with you.I think to choose a paid hosting even it is very cheap but it will be more reliable than free hosting.

I suggest paid hosting like mostly everyone else. When I first started out, I used free hosting. Then I found some things required me to have full control of my site.
Check out Surpass Hosting. They have great cheap plans. And are a great "my first website" start. http://www.surpasshosting.com/hostin...-solutions.php

I agree paid hosting is better. I won't use free hosting they usually have lots of down time. I have a website (can't disclose the url here yet) that I host at home. I couldn't afford paid hosting for the site at the moment and I just started the website a few days ago. But when the need arises and I can afford it. I will be going for paid hosting.

Picking a free Hosting Service
There are several sites that compare free hosting services. You should be able to locate them by doing a google search. I'd go to one of them, compare and pick the one that sounds the best.
