AT&T is the phone company here in Sacramento. I bought a package; i.e.,
an ad in the yellow pages + a website which they built. Now that I've seen how much I am over-paying, I think I should cancel the site and build or have built a new one. Makes sense ?

yeah you're better off going with a cheap domain registrar and host like namecheap, godaddy, etc.
