LUNARPAGES?
Well I´m finally getting around to using my web design software(expression web 2)trying to get the hang of it at least. Toying with the idea of setting up my e business I am finally looking at hosting companies and came across Lunarpages. I was a little inclined on Bluehost and Hostgator but after reading about SgtMac´s encounter with "the gator" I decided to back off and check. Well I´ve read some reviews and they all speak wonders and their free add ons sure look tempting and their price is low at less than 5 dlls a month (they are right up front clear on that). So after falling halfway in love with Lunarpages I realized I would like to hear your opinions and reviews. So please drop a line and tell me what you think.

Be careful about the source of these reviews...
No reflection meant for Lunarpages or any other host, I have not used any of the ones you mentioned. But, just keep in mind that while you can get good input from folks here who have tried different ones, and from other forums and the like, many if not most of the sites that say they are independent reviews may be anything but that.
Some of them look like fake setups altogether, with the same group of sites listed in different orders on different pages. It is hard to tell if they are set up by the hosts or affiliate marketers. Others appear to be sites created by affiliate promoters who may be recommending hosts based on who pays the best. You have to be very careful.

Host Recommendation
I don't get into this subject too much because I have really tried only two hosts. My first was directNIC which at the time I left didn't support some elementary things I needed. Then I went to Dreamhost which I have used very happily for several years.
I have had no trouble with them whatsoever and they offer lots potential services if I ever want to use them. They have autoresponders (although I chose to pay for Aweber) and what they call One-Click installs (great for beginners) for programs like WordPress, phpBB, and Drupal.
However, I use fairly simple sites with a little html, css, javascript, and php. When I do have a problem, I always work on it until I solve it myself and rarely ask for help. I think of it as a learning experience and determination. My wife probably calls it something else.
At the beginning I did get some help from them on a small matter or two but can't even remember what it was about. I don't have any trouble recommending them, but I can't say I have ever had any serious issue or complicated problem to test their service skills. That might be bad because I don't know how good they really are or good because their product, control panel and wiki are so good I don't need it.
In spite of sgtmac66's recent comments, I would point out that by far the most recommended host on this forum over time has been Hostgator. Several others are mentioned often. I'm sure you will get some additional comments.
