Homestead site builder

Hello i have created my website with Homestead sitebuilder and i think its a really great web host, but its not very popular so im wondering if there is a reason for this.

Has anyone used Homestead before?

Some time ago, don't ask me how long, Homestead was like Geocities and other free hosting sites. You either could not get your own domain name or you had to paid through the nose for it. Things have changed as far as Homestead and Geocities so you can now get a domain name through them.

There are many other hosting companies that offer more for less!

But, I your happy with it, that is what counts, right?

Thanks for your reply, yeah i made a free website with them many years ago, they have now completly changed, they dont offer free webhosting anymore. They now offer webhosting with starter templates etc. Im very happy with it, i have made the skateboarding website in my siniture with it.

If you are happy with it then that's all that matters. I doubt your readers will complain that you are on Homestead...

yeah i am happy with it, i just wanted to know if it was popular lol seems not but thats kol. Since building my website i have learnt a bit of html and css so maybe in the future i can start using more advanced software.

Personally I have a little problem with sound tracks coming on when the page is opened. For example, when I just open the site and the sounds of the skateboarding track blared out, everyone in the room looked around. "What was that?" someone asked (in not too friendly a tone).

It you want the sound, and I liked it personally, how about letting it play only with a hover or click, or near location with some indication to encourage that?

Yes, I was looking at the website in your signature.

I checked just now, loaded twice to see if it stayed the same (even cleared my history and tried again), and had a strange experience. In Firefox it (evidently the feature video?) automatically played just a few sounds and then stopped playing. The "feature" didn't load totally. The controls never did appear.

I tried in IE and it worked fine. Sounds didn't play on their own. Full feature loaded, including the control bar. There may be a problem that relates only to Firefox unless it is something in my computer.

I started building sites with Homestead a couple of years ago. I have had much success with the SiteBuilder program. There are some limitations on design but I am happy with the results I am getting.

I usually purchase my domains with Go Daddy...to buy them through Homestead is close to three times the cost.
