Default Good webhost for a programmer

Hello! Great site!

I'm going to start a website, maybe adding more sites (and domains) if it's successful. I'm a programmer so I dont need all the site builders and stuff like that (I Know it's free but I'm sure it would be cheaper without). However I do need PHP and MySQL. SSH access would be nice.

So basically I'm looking for a good and solid webhost that is cheap. I dont need that much storage, but as I'm hoping to become successful some bandwidth is needed (probably not more than 2createawebsite). It would be nice if there was a function "If bandwith exceeded -> auto charge for more bandwidth" so I wouldnt end up with a blank site to my visitors. I'm not sure if this is needed, but I've seen those messages on suddenly popular sites and I wouldnt like that to happen.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Sounds like godaddy.com is all ya need. They're cheap, reputable, support MYSQL, PHP, etc, no builders. Hostgator.com is another good one and you can host multiple domains. I don't know how either of the companies handle bandwidth overage so you'd have to ask about that.

Thanks!

I think I'll go for godaddy then. Hopefully I can thank you even more in a couple of months/years for all the tips on your site/blog
