I am guessing you want to start a website.

After having the hosting account activated, the first thing you will need is a domain. Did you purchase a domain with your powweb hosting account? If not, then you would need to get a domain.

wenbedma,

I would recommend that you spend a little bit of time reading through some of the resources available at Lisa's website: http://www.2createawebsite.com and it will definitely help you to get started. In fact, Lisa has some helpful reviews/information if you have a Powweb account.

After that, you can tell us a little more on what you would like to accomplish with your new website, and we can help.

But just to give you an idea, after you have a topic selected for your website, you would have to build the site. For that, you will need to learn html or use an html editor software.

2createawebsite.com states that Powweb comes with it's web editor program, so you can play with that to see if you like it.

Alternatively, you can start learning html. I recommend w3schools.com

There are free html editors (e.g. Nvu) others you would have to pay for (e.g. Dreamweaver or CoffeeCup).

To reiterate, I would suggest you spend some time at 2createawebsite.com and it will definitely help you decide which approach to take to build your website.

Hope this helps.

Sherif

Yes, as Sherif said you can decide if you want to use their free web builder (you have to login to your hosting account to set this up.) Or you can use your own editor. If you don't have Dreamweaver, CoffeeCup, FrontPage, etc. then you can download Nvu or Komposer for free.

Next step you can find some templates on the web to start designing your site (or you can learn to design from scratch, whatever you wish) At the top of this forum you'll see a link and video to a template that I provide for free.

So you could download that template and open it up in a software editor of your choice to begin customizing it. Then you would create an FTP account at Powweb that will allow you to save your work to the web.

Default Wordpress?

If building an actual website isn't what you are after, have you thought of starting a blog using wordpress?

Powweb has it pre loaded through install central.
