Shared hosting is the cheapest. Your site is hosted on a server along with hundreds (if not thousands) of other people.

Dedicated hosting means you get a whole web server to yourself. Someone else can take care of the technical details for you. This is for very popular sites.

Dedicated server means you get a whole web server to do what you want with, meaning you would have to know how to set it up and everything.

Shared plan is most economical option for hosting as many people share the overall cost of server maintenance. This is generally affordable web hosting solution for small business.
As it turns out, Dedicated server is a type of Internet hosting where the client leases an entire server not shared with anyone. Server administration can usually be provided by the hosting company as an add-on service. In some cases a dedicated server can offer less overhead and a larger return on investment.
As for recommendation, have a look at proaxxs.net web hosting plans as this company is able to meet all your expectations. Contact their support and they will explain you everything you may need.

Shared Hosting

Many hosting accounts using the same server. This is certainly the cheapest option available and meets the needs for most websites. Accounts on a 'shared' server share all the space and even IP address in most cases. The only real advantage with sharing the same IP as hundreds of other accounts is that it's cheaper. The advantages to buying a dedicated IP address would be better SEO and less risk to your hosting account. Most web-hosts will use a separate IP for email so a dedicated IP will not protect your hosting account from other people sending Spam using that IP address. It's not un-common for email services such as hotmail or live to block any emails coming from a black-listed IP cause by someone sending Spam emails, this will affect everyone on the server using the same IP address.

Overselling

I'm sure everyone has seen hosts offering 'unlimited' bandwidth/Disk Space. This is know as overselling and has many consequences for everyone on a oversold server. First of all there is no such thing as unlimited but for someone new to hosting is it very convincing to think they can use as much as they want. The web hosts offering this 'deal' will always say in their terms of service/acceptable usage policy something like this:

"Accounts will be terminated if anyone uses more than 5% of the total servers resources at one time"

"Accounts can not exceed a total of 10,000 files."

As you can see this is a bit of a problem because people new to hosting can upload lots of movies to their hosting account and slow down everyone else’s websites on the server in the process. This can also cause downtime.

VPS

A Virtual Private Server (VPS) is a little harder to explain. The best way I can explain it is. It's a server divided into sections. This allows the power of a dedicated server with out the paying $150+/month. The advantages of a VPS are:

- other accounts on the same server cannot effect your website because the server is divided

- a VPS allows you root access to your section of the server. So you can install any software you like on your VPS

- More reliable

The biggest disadvantage is you are responsible for protecting your VPS from viruses etc. With shared hosting your web host will do this for you.

Dedicated server

A dedicated server is the whole server. Dedicated servers are very expensive but for some websites shared hosting just isn't enough. A dedicated server also allows you full root access and since you own the whole server your website can take advantage of all the resources.

Unmanaged & managed

When buying a VPS/dedicated server you will see the option to go with managed or un-managed. This will vary a lot depending on the company you buy the server from.

Un-managed

You will be responsible for everything to do with your server from installing software and protecting from viruses and DOS attacks.

Managed

Unfortunately a managed dedicated server/VPS is not like shared-hosting. Your web-host will install some software such as cPanel for you. They will also keep an eye on your server and warn you of any huge changes in bandwidth usage. Having a managed server does not mean your protected from attacks at all. You will still need to install most software yourself. Your host may configure your server but it depends a lot on the company.
