what do you prefer
Hostingsource offers Plesk and cPanel control panels on their VPS deals - which one would you prefer to use?
And why?

Both control panels are good, however since cpanel is the one used most often (like windows is to mac), i prefer it over plesk.
It is a matter of personal preference, check out the demos, and see which one you like more.

cPanel is user friendly and also have a community where we can get all the cPanel related issues fixed quickly. But day by day Plesk is becoming awful, Plesk support team is terrible. cPanel is best for Linux and DotNetPanel for Windows.

+1 for cPanel.
cPanel is just so user friendly it's worth using even if you have to pay a bit more.

cpanel
Given those choices I would reinforce the idea of cPanel even though I use neither. Dreamhost has their own which is very good (that's what I use).
But over the months there have been a ton of discussions about cPanel in dealing with various web projects. The program seems to be well thought of and and highly recommended. In addition there are so many people here and elsewhere using it that you would always be able to find help easily.

Think hostingsource offers cPanel for Linux and Plesk for Windows VPS accounts.
I'd prefer to start from Linux (cPanel) VPS deals as it's easier to manage them.

I'd probably opt for Cpanel, mainly because I've used it more frequently, so I guess I find it easier to make my way around the interface.

Never used Plesk, but cPanel is very easy to use and I have never had a problem.

I think both of them are good control panels. The biggest difference between them is user interface. Plesk provides better support for automation. C panel has silently more features than Plesk. C panel is easy to use, and many clients are used to and prefer the cPanel interface.
