Default Host Gator vs Go Daddy?

Hi All - this is my 1st post.

I signed up with GoDaddy several days ago and copied my site files in, etc. I needed to add someone with account privileges and found the process totally unintuitive and their online help useless, etc. More I could explain but the bottom line is I am not sure I want to continue with them.

Host Gator seems popular here.
Are their processes intuitive?
Is tech support easy to reach without long waits?
Is tech support knowledgeable (Go Daddy was so - so at times)?

Thanks for your help

Yeah, HostGator is generally better for hosting than GoDaddy is.

I'd only use GoDaddy for buying domains.

Host Gator's Customer service is by far the best I have ever seen. I would definitely recommend host gator. Just yesterday I had a little billing dilemma and it was worked out in 3 minutes. I was like the 6th person in queue and I was instantly talking with a customer service rep. They are awesome!!!!!

Godaddy is good for domain. Hostgator is good for cheap but reliable hosting and their customer care is fantastic.

I have a site very similar to Godaddy.

One thing I would caution is how you give out permissions. You do not want to have someone have access to auto use of credit cards. You also want to be careful about not letting them overload or use up your allowed amount of storage and download space.

Why have you mentioned only these companies?
There are a lot of other ones, much better - serverpoint, for example.
They are reputable and is able to meet all your specific requirements.

I use Hostgator. I've never used GoDaddy so I can't say if one is better than the other. But so far, I've not had any problems.

Ive used Hostgator for over a year now I did use Godaddy in the past. Personally I believe hostgator has the best support I have seen. Whenever I have a question i just go to there live chat and someone is always there within a minute to answer my question.

HOST GATOR hands down has the best 24/hour phone support, and live chat. They set the bar really high in the customer service dept. 4:00am in the morning and and questions you got is answered right away and so on...I've pointed my sites at many different servers and host gator i believe is one of the best I've experienced.

I asked this same question to Lisa in this thread yesterday: http://www.websitebabble.com/web-hos...love-them.html

So I guess I will ask the same question here:

Other than service and support, is there anything that they offer that makes them better than Godaddy (who is the current Hosting Provider that I use for all my sites).

And, other than service and support, is there anything else that makes Godaddy not as good as HostGator?

I am looking for specifics here.
thanks...

Someone wanted to assign me as account exec but they quit because it didn't make much sense (it didn't work).
