Default Photo Gallery / Albums

I wonder if anyone knows of a very simple photo gallery/album program that i can use on my site.
The featues that i would like are :
1/. Members being able to add their own photos to an album on site.
2/. Being able to add text to the photo.
3/. Possibly have a slideshow faclity.
4/. Only me to other administrator to add albums to site.

I am using Jalbums at the moment they are good but it is a lot of time spent on photo albums that could be spent elsewhere on the site. I have looked at Coopermine but they look to complex for me to handle. I just want someting really simple.

I have over 150 albums on the site divided into 3 catergories.

Post The Gallery

Hi,

with your requirements I doubt that you will find a simple one which will cater for this. I find the open source Gallery to be the best tool for the job. Yes it does have a learning curve and it has tons of options, but in the long run it will do just what you want it to do.

Remember if you start with a simple system then you will sooner or later come to a point where you want more and can't have it because your system will not support it. Therefore I suggest to invest the time in learning a more complex and powerful system even if you only want to do something simple, but then it will never fail you once you grow your requirements.

The only 2 gallery solutions that come to mind are Gallery 2 and coppermine.

Over the years I have used both of them, and they seem like stable and secure solutions.
