Hello Everyboby. I have a question. I went on quite a few websites in which copying a text is not allowed. When you try a message comes up (e.g copyright infringement or no copying allowed) something like that. I wanted to know does Dreamweaver have that feature or do you have to purchase another type of software. Thank you for any advice and this website has been so helpful.
P.S Also, i have been on websites that if you ever tried to print something the page comes out blank or there are weird symbols or something. Has anyone experience that? Is that another type of software?

As far as preventing the right-click for copying/pasting, you can get a javascript that does that. Just do a Google search for "disable right-click" and you'll see tons of different code that will allow you to do that.

Keep in mind though this doesn't prevent people from going up to the Edit menu to copy and view your source.

There is on way to completely stop someone from right clicking and copying. There is always a way around it.

From what I know Javascript can do it, as Lisa mentioned. The problem with that is when someone has disabled Javascript, then any Javascript becomes useless.

Preventing items from being printed on a Web page can be handled by CSS. You can specify a CSS to use for displaying on a screen and another for printing. Then on the print CSS simply set "display:none;" for the items you don't want to show up in print.

I remember a couple of years back I seen a trick with images. Use css to place a transparent image above your images, that way when someone right clicks and tries to save it, there saving a transparent image.

Firefox, if any of use it also gives you full access to the source, images, flash you name it also there add ons enable it too. I tried the disable right click method but i just found it made my site look tacky and its pratically useless if someone really wants that content that you have. They will get it somehow.

Though if you want to copyright and image, just put a faint logo of your company in the left bottom corner or a slightly transparent one in the center.
