Default adobe creative suite cs4 web premium

Hi all,

my friend recently bought an extra adobe creative suit cs4 web premium and i was thinking of buying it from him, does anybody knows roughly the market price for it currently, as from what i have searched there seems to be a lot of different ranges of prices.

he claims that his copy is the 'educational' version one, whats the difference between educational and the standard one?

Well the Adobe retail price is $400.

The educational version is often cheaper and allows more than one license. So you could install it on multiple computers without having to buy another license.

Default The difference.

The difference between the regular edition and the student edition is about $1,100.00. Technically, you can only use the student edition as a student. For other use, such as commercial use, you are "required" to use the regularly priced one at about $1,500.00 (at Amazon's low price). If you are also a student you might be able to use it legally, but I would check it out carefully in the fine print as to whether (even then) you can use it for a profit seeking web site.

While a lot of people fudge on this (other words might be lie, cheat, or steal) I wouldn't recommend it. A lot of people illegally downloaded music at will until the crackdown not long ago and I noticed in the news a few days ago that one person's conviction for that "crime" which is quite similar was just upheld by the Supreme Court. Jammie Thomas, a Native American single mother of four from my state here in Minnesota, was ordered to pay $222,000 for songs she downloaded from the Internet. Evidently the court thinks that is a fair judgment.

Sometimes being able to sleep at night is worth more than saving a few bucks, or even quite a few.

hmm whats making me very confused is that there seems to be 3 versions of the whole thing, student, educational and normal..

so if i use the educational/student version to create a website I cant use it to sell products online? what about advertisements then?

well its worth it if you are in a design company/etc which requires heavy use of photoshop, and have many computers in the office..which you would only need to get one copy of it at 400$ to be able to use it on every computer

but if its just for personal usage.. then of course its not worth that much really (at least to me)

If you don't feel Adobe is worth the money then try GIMP www.gimp.org I personally would have loved to found CS4 at that price then at what I payed for all of mine.
