Default What is a good website design software?

I am considering making a website( already picked out the host [host gator]) and I am wondering what type of site software would allow me to create tabs, and put pictures on the webpage in the middle of text. Incase this helps my website will tell the history and recent news et cetera, about the xbox 360.

Ps. I chose hostgator for the free sub-domains( or so they say) since I will be adding forums.

    Thanks,

There are many things to choose from, but for some easy developing i would suggest the Drupal cms. I've quite easily created many sites with it and you just need some minimal knowledge to set it up.

Good choice on Host Gator! They are the best. I use the following sub domains.

    shop.conceptskateboarding OS Commerce
    forum.conceptskateboarding PHPBB
    blog.conceptskateboarding Wordpress

    I love it!

As for your question DreamWeaver is amazing but expensive but if your really serious and have the money i would say DreamWeaver.

A member of this forum helped me out a lot with the layout, i come up with the layout and had really bad coding. So he re done it with simple coding and fixed any issues.

I now edit it with dreamweaver yes, its amazing software. Any layout is possible with any editing software i think.

    Hello Wisemanofhyrule

Actually some of the best quality sites are hand-coded in Notepad. Which comes with Windows.

Actually if you want to really learn the stuff, that is the best way to go. Even Dreamweaver can really scramble code.

And you should also know that images mean an image editor of some sort.

You might want to check out these. NOTE: I don't use them personally:

Is there a sample website you like? Seeing how it is laid out with its bells and widgets would help us in making suggestions.
There are CMS programs out there like Joomla or Drupal (and Wordpress.org too) which are quite extensible and free. Check out meetup.com groups in your area if you are the type that likes to mingle with like-minded folks.

Dreamweaver has become the defacto standard. It is okay, but expensive. There are many ways to make a website.

Lets do start by looking at what you like.
