Capture Page? Yes or No?
Are you using the webpage given to you by the affiliate marketers, whose affiliate marketing programs you have joined, only, or do you do something else with a capture page of some sort, and what is it you do?
thanks,
Hubert

I usually always write a review on my own site and then link to the merchant within the article. I rarely promote the affiliate page directly.

So Lisa,
You write a review of the page you are about to send them to. Interestine idea. Do you ad a form for them to sign up for something to get their before you send them to the affiliate page?
Thanks,
Hubert

Not a review of the page, but a review of the product. No I don't usually add a form.

Lisa,
Are you promoting the product through advertising to strangers or with a list of contacts you already have? If using advertising to people not on your list, do you have a way of adding them to your list or do you just let them go directly to the affiliate host without adding them to your list?
Thanks,
Hubert

No, I don't use a mailing list. I just promote them to the folks who find my site in the search engines.

So does that mean that once they read the ad they are sent directly to the affiliate hosts page without getting their contact information?

Yep, you got it. Collecting email addresses has never worked for me. Not saying it's not good because many people use this to their advantage and it's an excellent way to boost your revenue. I've just never found the right spin with my particular audience.

Lisa,
I am curious as to your audience. What is your audience that is different from other audiences?

Depends on my site. For my fitness site, it's people who want to lose weight. For my web hosting site it's people who want to create websites. I use the same method for any site I create.
Success with affiliate programs is all about this...
1) Finding a niche and understanding the people's needs.
2) Communicate with them in a way that is helpful without trying to over sell. 3) Make recommendations and show that you use the product
Doing this builds your credibility no matter what the topic of your site is and no matter who your audience is.
