Post CREATING FLASH

Hi Lisa,

Forgive my terms if am not technical enough, am still building my first website but I'll try to explaine my question.

Let's say you have ten (10) pictures you want to put on your website, and you want those pictures to be coming up within seconds whenever your site is open. That is, when picture 1 is up, after few seconds, picture 1 goes out and picture 2 comes up, just like that. Well, is it flash they call it, i don't know but I hope I've try to explain it the best i can.

Please, how do you creat that using dreamweaver?

Thanks
Chitel

I don't know if there is a specific function you can use to do that in dreamweaver but I bet there are some free javascripts out there you can download and configure to rotate pictures.

In fact, can download this program called "Magic Image"

I actually used to use that on this forum with the banners on the right hand side. It was a javascript code that you configured and you could tell it how long to display each image. It's really for banners but you can do it for images too.

You need to create a swf file (macromedia) upload it on server and embed the file in on your page.
This the code for to embed
<object width="320" height="240" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/
swflash.cab#version=6,0,29,0" classid="clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000">

<param value="flash.swf" name="movie">
<param value="high" name="quality">
<embed width="320" height="240" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi
?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash" quality="high" src="http://www.irisinn.net/flash.swf"></embed></object>
